TAILGUNNER by Metzkermeister

You are the last Tailgunner, a pilot of one of the most elite Mouse Squadrons. Fight against endless hordes of the Rats of the Skies in an old school airplane shoot'em up until you inevitably run out of ammo, health... or both.

Known Issues:
Scaling Issues (Updated):
Web Version now has a Fullscreen button in the bottom right if you scroll down. Fullscreen works well on 1920x1080 and 3840x2160. 2560x1440 is best enjoyed not Fullscreen.
Windows version works just as well as Fullscreen web does for 1920x1080 and 3840x2160. 2560x1440 has issues with Backround items and enemies spawning in camera.
Changelog:
06/04/22
- changed the unity template for the web version to include a Fullscreen button.

@jordan-pavlic
If you run out of ammo you can still use your plane as a weapon. Ramming an enemy will destroy it, but also deal a lot of damage to you. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
At first, I didn't notice the limited ammo, and thought the theme connection was very vague, but then I ran out of ammo, and being this kind of game things got drastic quickly.
@roughskin definitely not intended. :D
Would have been great to have a bit more variation between rockets and bullets.
The only real complaint I have is just down to enemy AI and variation. There didn't seem to be any climbing difficulty so once you learned how to cheese the enemies you can pretty much go forever since ammo boxes refill your ammo.
Great work!
@fireslash We sadly didnt have enough time to make the "AI" "smarter", we also used to not have a limit for how many enemies could be fighting the player at once and it made the game a bit too hard in our opinion. Would love to know you high score though, since noone i know has cracked the 5k mark yet, cheese or no cheese.
I like the atmosphere and audio the best. Sets a nice one right off the bat. I enjoy the curve of the plane when moving up and down (adds a lot of difficulty)
Felt really good to control and looked good.
The visual and audio feedback was a little minimal. I actually didn't realize I was killing enemies for the first 30 seconds and thought they were just diving off the screen or something. Once I figured out they were dropping ammo it got more interesting.
Great entry! :)
