SUNSET [Incomplete Art Test] by anchorlight

[raw]
made by anchorlight for Ludum Dare 50 (EXTRA)

Closing up shop. Forever.

Note: The following two games were forks of the same project, an attempt to use LD Extra as a chance to push as far as we could for a rich story in the three week period allotted. Due to outside factors we were unable to accomplish our goal; the game attached is our attempt to create a submission in the time allotted. While unfinished, it still exists as a sort of art test.

The original game idea, A Pawn's Fate, is still in development. News will follow... "soon."

All was peaceful until they arrived. The Bugs. A show-stopping plague programs before had warned of... and nothing could possibly describe the experience.

They swarm sectors, piece by piece. They interrupt programs left and right. This is the end... and sooner or later, the program will come to a crashing halt.

But you? You aren't just any program. You're an essential. It's your duty to stick around and salvage as much of the system as you can.

Fight away bugs and allocate resources to various forms of error checking in order to defend your small hub for as long as possible, providing a haven for the rerouting systems for as long as possible. When all is lost, board the last transport.

Really cool entry, looking forward to see where you guys take this with a bit more time. Pretty confusing to figure out what you need to do at the moment, due to the amount of UI and mechanics, but I see theres a tutorial coming at some point in the menu, which should be able to clear this up. The style is really cool. Some of the bugs wouldn't die for me, not sure if I was doing something wrong though.
