void Delay(Object Nuke); by DevZhrssh

[raw]
made by DevZhrssh for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

This is my first entry for the Ludum Dare 50 Game Jam. It's a game where a city is about to be nuked. Your goal is to delay the nuke for as long as you can by typing the words you see in the console.

This is also the first-ever "complete" game I made in my 2 months of indie game development career. Feel free to criticize the gameplay, it is much appreciated!

How to play: - Wait for countdown - Start typing - No need to press Enter

That moment when you delay a nuke by entering weird words into a chat :)... nice work!

Ok, so not a very deep game, but it was frantic and pretty fun. For a first go, not bad.
Music gets a touch grating after a bit but considering this is like a 1 minute game tops, not too big an issue.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I got a high score of around 20000 evacuees. Didn't write it down, but it was somewhere around there.

Very cool, it reminded me of the times when my brother forced me to play similar games so that I could learn how to print quickly.

Pretty fun! I liked the visuals and sound effects that went with it! Not sure if the lenght of the word matters, or if it delays the nuke the same (in that case it's also kinda luck based). My best is 20952. :)

First of all: I'm not a fast typer, but this game was fun, it was really short, but creative design. I would have tried to scale the dropdown a bit less, so the player can play the game more. Anyways I enjoyed it, and I don't like this genre, so that got to mean, that this game is good. Am I right ;)

Simple, fun game about typing to save the world. The game could have used a bit more juice when you successfully typed a word, but nevertheless, pretty fun.

Nice, I love typing games and the nuke thing is quite smart. I'd love to see a high-score system though

Oh my goodness that was stressful haha
I mean, you're delaying a nuke so it's gotta be stressful.

I tried replaying it many times but my first attempt was the best with 21k evacuees.

Only 2 months in and you're already making great games, keep it up

So I really like typing games, however I kept having to click back into the input box to type again. Which really breaks the flow and makes it hard to play, but I like the idea of it!

The music was a bit clunky sounding at the start though, but overall well done!
