I think you can turn the "wiggle your mouse to move the tank" workaround into a feature instead of a bug. Because it actually is a quite nice game mechanic.

I love the ascii animations, especially the 3D map and the intro. The soundtrack also helps setting the mood.

The bouncing/reflecting of the bullets could be improved since the angles are incorrect, it would help with playing the game more tactically.

My highest rated game so far, you've hit the vibe very well. Took me a second to figure out what was going on though

A fun game, I can definitely see the Wii tanks inspiration. I really liked the touch of the 3d world map.

Interesting graphics and gameplay. But I can't figure out how ricochet works

Super interesting entry! The "wiggle mouse" movement was actually my favourite part, I think there is an entire deep-dive on that alone that could be really cool in another project or an update.

Overall, really cohesive and well-presented and fun to work around the quirks of the terminal emulation.

@nick-saulnier yes it is indeed a strange (bug) feature. Old arcade games also had it where you shoot in the direction of movement, so there is definitely more to explore. Thanks for the nice works, learning new things is also what keeps LudumDare fun.

A lot of really cool stylistic choices here! I especially liked the little ASCI hub on the bottom, it was super cool and had a lot of fun details. The map interacting with your mouse was a super cool effect that didn't get old. The level design was pretty solid and difficulty ramped nicely. Well done!

Nice game, I like the ascii style. The best looking menu I have seen so far in this jam, really cool effect. Indeed, wiggle the mouse works well here, it adds dynamism to it i think. Really cool, thanks !

Cool ascii, especially in the hub. Mouse bug really turned into a nice feature. Sadly couldn't launch level 5, nothing happens on click.
