Aztec Tower Defence by Thomas Hegarty

[raw]
made by Thomas Hegarty for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

Inevitably all great civilisations come to an end.... Until then, you must defend the last of the Aztecs greatest accomplishments; the power crystal. Place turrets along the lanes and hold your ground for as long as you can.

How well can you defend the crystal?

Really beautiful graphics. Gameplay could have used maybe some upgrades / more tower & enemy types, but it was fun and a good sub for a jam game for sure! Well done

Great graphics even if the gameplay is a bit basic. I quickly had enough money to fill every space on the map with a tower and I don't think I would have ever lost. Still a unique take on the theme and pretty well executed.

These graphics are amazing for a game jam, I do wish there were multiple kinds of enemies & etc tho. I really like the idea of only being able to build the resource gatherers in the center! Makes them risky and temporary.

The visuals are gorgeous, and I'm pretty fond of TD games. I don't think you're supposed to do that but if you do fill the whole map with resource generators I don't think you can ever lose

I got to wave 13, but it seems there are no more waves (or maybe the enemies wouldn't spawn because they were never killed). This is what it looks like when you flood the map with generators haha (I think the enemies got stuck):

Very cool entry nonetheless, good job!

That music, mood, beat, and jungle all came together perfectly. I was very sad when the music ended around round 10 or so. I built up resource collectors in every lane to stuff it full, kind of glitched out the enemies hahahahahahahahahahaha. I had fun, good work!

Got to the end of musical loop. Then it became less interesting. Overall, loved the idea and defended well. It's not hard but quite an authentic concept. Thanks for the entry!

Thank you all for the comments and feedback so far! Myself and the team are all glad you enjoyed yourselves. We may have noticed a few of these hiccups immediately after submission, which is just typical :v: But cheers to all for giving us a play and rating!
