Goal:
Last as long as you can in an arena filled with battle hardened gladiators!

You are a gladiator sentenced to fight till you die. You have to fight against a constant onslaught of other gladiators coming for your head. Good luck delaying the inevitable.

Controls:
Use WASD to run.
Mouse to aim your sword.

Great graphics. It would be nice to see what my final kill count was on the the game over screen though. Great entry...well done.

I had a blast, super fun! Great sounds ;)

It's a simple mechanic well executed. Love all the visual feedbacks and the persistance. It's pretty hard to keep track of your kill count, adding it to the death screen would be fantastic.

Graphic and sound is amazing! You can feel yourself as gladiator right now! Nice job!

But
I have some troubles with weapon aiming - hand with sword feel hard, because you can't turning sword correct. You always have a angle between sword and hand.

Really Great Art, the gameplay was pretty fun, but got a little old pretty quickly. I also really enjoyed the music.

Boss was AWESOME, fantastic animations. In general the art was excellent. Gameplay felt very smooth and fair and it was pretty fun, although I would have liked a little more variety in the combat (but I realize that's a lot for a jam). Great job overall!

The attack mechanic felt a bit more like mowing the lawn then gladiatorial combat, and some of the sound effects started to get a little old pretty quickly. Some audio/visual feedback of the player hitting enemies or being hit would be nice additions given more time to work on it, as sometimes it was a little difficult to tell when I was taking damage. I did like the music quite a bit and the graphics were really sharp! But overall, not too shabby for a Jam game! Good work!

Great game!

The pixel art is gorgeous. The game is super simple yet interesting and satisfying, perfect for a jam game.
I love the design of the big badies, they force you to always be on the move.

Maybe hitboxes and hurtboxes could be a bit clearer, I sometimes was a bit confused on what just touched me!

Great graphics and audio, I love the sound effect when enemies die (especiallythe big one ^^).
I think it lacks of enemy types, only two is not enough to keep me playing more than a few minutes.
I'm also not convinced about the sword control, I think it would have feel better to just press a button.

If you run up and down the arena only the big guys can hit you, but eventually even that tactic fails.
Really nice art, was drawn in by the promise of arena combat.
Fighting itself, specifically the sword swing was kinda vague.
Plus points for blood everywhere!

Art is great, but the combat was really lacking the blood was nice but I missed particles and feedback. I wanted to swing my sword :) Great job on submitting!

I loved the art of your game! It feels very polished (the vfx for damage from the big guy is pretty well made).
I liked the music too, but it feels like if the song were more oppressing, for an arena battle, it would fit more (but its cool and pretty clean).
I wish this kind of vfx/animation were used on the main attack of the character, it would add more impact for the gameplay and the aesthetics!

The art on this game was pretty awesome, it really fit the theme of a gladitorial battle. The music was fitting as well, but I think the art really sells it on this one. All the characters felt well designed from a looks perspective.

That said, I wish there was a little more player feedback from the game. For one, like @whiskeybadger mentioned, attacking the smaller enemies felt more like mowing the lawn than sword combat. It only really felt like I was using a weapon against the bigger guys. Additionaly, some sound effects could also work as a sort of feedback. I figured this could get annoying with all the little guys, but maybe something more substantial for the bigger guys, because it kinda felt like a little poke rather than a mighty slash like the art suggests. This may sound hypocritical though from a guy whose team omitted sound effects as well for time, but I still figure it worth mentioning.

Overall though, the entry was pretty great. I think a few polish elements could really make this game get the "feel" that it deserves. The core of the game is there and it works.

Couldn't kill any of the big guys, but running sword first into small guys was pretty satisfying. Well done on the graphics and sounds. Atmosphere was great.

I really liked the idea and how they implemented the theme here, great! The music and sound effects are incredible and very funny, the art seemed very good to me, I also think that with a higher resolution the art would be more appreciated. As for the gamplay, I think it could be polished more, the biggest gladiatorial attack seems to hit even when it is not in range, more animations and more enemies could be added, I think it would improve much more, they are really simple details xD Great job ! Congratulations!!
