Inevitable Crash by NikolaVuk

[raw]
made by NikolaVuk for Ludum Dare 50 (JAM)

Maneuver around a simple parking lot while avoiding your previous attempts. Try not to crash into anything, but trust me: it's inevitable!

Control your car with A/D or LEFT/RIGHT keys. Avoid your "ghosts" and obstacles. Plan your parking in advance so you don't create problems for yourself in later stages of the level.

Good luck and thanks for playing

Just so you know there is a HTML build, but I can't edit the page because the submission deadline is over

Pretty original! I love the fact that your previous attempts play against you in the next attempts.

Fun game! If I had to give feedback, it might be nice to have more acceleration on the turning speed so it feels a little less slippery, but the feel of the controls is definitely down to preference.
Altogether it plays pretty smoothly, and looks nice as well!

Awesome Entry Goes with the Theme, an built out nicely 10 levels, i like the unlock levels feature.

I like the concept. UI is very intuitive, even if first try is confusing. The green thing in the middle (stage 2) is confusing - I went right for it because it seemed like a good thing. Avoiding my "past selves" was hectic fun, but I didn't personally see how they related to my previous attempts. Some kind of sound effects would have also gone a long way.

All told a pretty polished jam entry, with no noticeable bugs (other than quit button being broken, but that's the same with everyone's game ;)

Nice! It was pretty good, but I would've liked if it had sound

Nice concept, but I hate the camera angles. I think top-down would feel better, because your previous tries appear out of nowhere.
But it's still pretty fun!

@jm-janzen your successful attempts are recorded and you avoid them. They move just as you moved but since you start on different parking space when you succeed you probably didn't notice it. You're right about the green thing, maybe I could've replaced it with some sign or something. @jerryberry yeah you're right about the acceleration on the turning. If I make post jam version I will definitely try to make a tighter controller. Thanks everyone for the feedback it really means a lot to me.

very cool! I like the level difficulty progression, the only thing i'd change is a keyboard restart shortcut

I had tons of fun with this, the steering feels really smooth and the graphics look clean, good job

I like this concept a lot! I think the main additional thing I'd like to have would be camera controls, so that you could see your past selves more easily. I was able to solve several levels by going in a circle, but I like that in later levels that became less viable due to how the spawns were mixed up (and variable velocity of cars?). This is clever and fun, great job!

@adncoach yeah, camera angles could've been better. But I was really against top down since the game loses a lot of depth graphically. In post jam version I will try to find a compromise between the current angles (mainly the angles at level 3, 6 and 9 since I think they work a lot better than the rest) and the top down angles

@ciderpunk noted, I think that restart button would be a really nice addition to post jam version. @postpostscript as I said in previous comment I really think that viewing angles could be improved greatly, but I'm not sure if the camera controls are a way to go since they complicate the control scheme greatly and I really wanted to keep it clean so it isn't too confusing. Thanks everyone for the honest feedback!

Good job!) As already written earlier, there is not enough music and the camera turns my head)

the game is well thought out, and fun to play. some options to choose which camera angles to play from would be a nice addition.

another great thing about this game is the visual representation of competing against yourself, good idea, good game.

Good idea! It's fun to play with this toy cars. I probably wish the camera wouldn't move so abruptly.
Good job!

I like it. Who is the player's worst enemy? The player!

I totally played this because it has cars in it.
I believe you made a solid decision on not being able to see the entire level; it exercises the player's memory or lack thereof, so they only hate themselves more when they are sabotaged by their past choices.

This is great, one of the better jam games I've played.

I really like the concept. Very nice and fun to play. But the overall experience is not as pleasant as it can be due to the camera that make the all thing quite tricky to drive.
