If they are, that's quite impressive. ^^
Also I think you nailed the mood of a scifi junkyard ^^
I feel the gameplay could've been done better. I don't think the ships that dispense the trash should come in *faster* as the game goes on; you're already really slow at the start, so I think it should've stayed the same speed. Eventually you just *cannot do ANYTHING* about all the crud that piling up on you! I also think it didn't properly show my score at the end, just showing '0' as my total score.
I was surprised at how similar these issues were to my Ludum Dare 40 entry Shape Invasion. That also had the problem of objects piling up on you, the game dropping frames, and there being NOTHING you could do about it! The difference is that this is a Jam entry, it's in 3D, and it looks/sound orders of MAGNITUDE better than my LD40 entry!
As for the good stuff:
These graphics look REALLY damn good! Objects being outlined to show that they're highlighted is also a welcome addition. The music may be a little basic, but the sound effects are superb as well! This game sure has good presentation.
Good game, despite the problems. You all did a lovely job.
- It became very clear from the beginning that the poor little robot did not have any chance, as the trash was coming in much to quickly, I did not mind though, I thought it was funny. But I don't know if all players can appreciate it.
- The clipping of the camera through the wall was upsetting, that could have been prevented I think
- The graphics are done very nicely and I like how the items were color-coded so you knew what to do with them
- I did not really understand why the metal compressor had a counter. I saw that it started compressing at 5 items, but I thing that the cooldown for that could have been much longer, so that the player needed to do other types of trash before starting compressing again
P.s. one rating to go, good luck!!
The fact that the robot and everything is 3D looks really cool, I wish I only had more time to realize somethings.
Btw, the fact that all the assets have a huge color line is great because people don't forget where you should bring everything!
Congratulations for the job, I hope you guys had a lot of fun making this game because the final result is really cool!
I persevered however, and found a really fun game! Sound managed to add and not get annoying even with repetition, graphics were very solid, and the mood... I definitely just had to stop and watch after a point at the sheer helplessness I felt. That's some good story telling!
For points to improve, I found the controls a bit difficult and there were some bugs with placing the items.
Good job overall!
