Irksome Knight by Elemental Zeal Games Studios

[raw]
made by Elemental Zeal Games Studios for LD33 (JAM)
*Note* We're sorry the files for the game ended up being so large, we ended up doing many more animations, and of a higher framerate and quality than we are used to, and did not know the size would be a problem with our 2D game. We tried our to compress what we could.

Linux and Mac versions are untested.

Description:

Those irksome knights are at it again! They are after your precious treasure.
Rally together with your fellow monsters and give those knights what for.

After each knight is defeated, acquire reinforcements from your unlocked
monster ally cards. Play well enough, and you might even unlock some other
monsters to play as!

Cool game. The progression is very well done. I had fun playing it.

While I think the card system is cool, it may not be the best mechanic for games like these that will be played for about 5 minutes and then discarded, but still points for that. Nice art style.

Silly, fun for a time, had a few issues and the animation was a bit bothersome to the eye, but overall not too bad. Could use some polish. Also curious if any other cards or characters actually exist.

NIce game!

The card system looks nice and the controls are good! Maybe a few more particles or more attacks would be nice!

Keep it up!

Nice, there's a lot of content here. I think if you work out the combat mechanics and the ally crowd control, this could be the seed of a great game!

Nice game! When I saw the thumbnail I was afraid that this game could have the same idea I had for my game. I'm glad that it doesn't. =]

This is nice, I like the card system. Was able to make it to hero #29 with two cards per "turn" as a skeleton.
If you are planning on a post-jam version, some sort of ending would be probably nice to have. And more content variety, be that cards or hero "types". I think this leaves some space for experimentation.

Great game!
Cute graphics and simple controls are probably two of its strengths.
The feeling of progression was fairly well achieved.
I rarely see entries with this much replayability.
Well done!

It took me a little bit to realize that the goal was to let your allies take the bruising. The character's aggro is through the roof, though, so if you try and take a swing in there you might end up getting your butt kicked.

I found myself wishing for some other fighting mechanic, such as blocking or something like that.
