I didn't understand what to achieve with hot/cold system and if there is an end to the game?
Well done Horace!! :D
Very beautiful, and well polished.
Thank you very much ! Hope you finish to the end !
@bomb-x
Yes there is an end to the game : ghost need to cool down or to be heat up. If you help them all, you'll get to the ending. But this is the kind of game where the experience is probably more important than the treasure at the end.
@phanelly
Oh, thank you a lot ! That one of the sweetest comment I ever have... Thank you ! Glad that you enjoy it !
@mokiinwarp
Thank for the compliment!!! I'm glad you like it. For the ending : you can help ghost, if you help them all, a clear ending will show up. But it's not that important, it's a "the true treasure was the gameplay and ambiance we experienced all the way" type of game.
@sirkovitch
Thank you ! I love to make the gameplay first and then, seeking an atmosphere to fit it
@yotamco
Eheh, glad you get along with it! The flow is important in this kind of game and I'm happy to see it work !
@aaaaaalois
Thank you !
@samuel-hollywood-summers
Thank you for taking the time to finish the game! I'm glad you succeed and that you didn't get bored~~~
It was relaxing and pleasant to play. Controls work well and all is intuitive. I wasn't sure if there is some "end", but I guess there isn't. I found four ghosts and "Nothing" :).
My one criticism would be: the theme is not really all that well represented.
Really good experience Overall.
Thank you !
@fabula-rasa
There is 5 ghost and an end! But ghost are hard to found (it was kinda the point but still didn't work as intended...)
And yes, the theme get lost while it was very present at the begining of development : the bulb was a loose one, who was unstable and had to keep jumping or else, could fall and died, but it was too harsch. All the ghost should be unstable and move around, but it add too much to the workload and also were already difficult to find... In the end, I thinked that the dialog should convey the theme, but it's not that present too. I agreed.
@basset-romain
Thank you ! But yeah, there is some bug on the deplacement, I did a lot of trial and error before getting a good movement gameplay... (the first day of the jam was dedicaded to that. Even the morning of the second day) but I'm glad it didn't ruin your experience
@manio
Thanks for all your compliment ! I don't know how to respond but I'm really grateful
I worked with a sound designer (aka Choucroute) for the sound, 'cause that really a field where I cannot do anything... He made the game feel alive and help the journey to be as pleasant as possible~~~
@feraligatr
Thanks !
thank you !!
@marc-jones
Thank you! I had to have a good ambient and sound design for a moody game like this
@agentparsec
It's a friend of mine who did it, and it was relatively simple to implement (we play random note from a list of "same key" sound ; and if we pick the same note twice, we repick. So it's really rare to have twice the same note but can still happen)
@spicyshiba
Thanks you !
A critic is that switching between lights seemed to spam when I held space, and sometimes I would switch to a different light then the one shown by the "lock on" icon.
But all in all, a great entry!
I see the problem here and it happens time to time (the game hesitate between two light, and goes to one to another quickly. So, when you press the button, it "lock" another lamp but don't even have the time to show it. I wanted have add a timer to change the lock but it slow down the jump from light to light in quick succession, and didn't have time to find a better solution for it.)
But thank you for your lightwarming compliment! I'm glad you like it !
