Alche-Tea by loueee
About
Alche-Tea is a chill game about using base elements to craft products for a potentially noxious cup of tea. Store your elements in jars, mix the products together, add them to the pot. See how high a score you can get! Alche-Tea was developed over the course of the weekend in GameMaker Studio 2 with visuals created in Clip Studio Paint.
We hope you enjoy!

The mechanic of mixing elements to create new ones isn't new but still this is something very enjoyable to do. It is relaxing to play the game.
Some suggestions, improvements and stuff:
- I seem to only be able to create a few new elements (like 3/4) I don't know if this is voluntary or if I'm stupid ^^
- Storing elements in jars is quite useless since you have to remember what you put in there. What I mean is that you no longer see the shape of the element but just some similar uniform color in a jar.
- When several elements are in the same place, grabbing them makes you grab all of them. It should juste pick the top one.
- I'm not sure what the DEADLY thing on the teapot is. Nor the score you are suppose to make. I guess the two are related but not sure how. Are there 20 new deadly elements to create or something ?
Well done one again, a very pleasing on the eye :)
Also ran into a few bugs with dragging items over each other. Not sure if it is possible to empty the tea pot?
Great jam. Well done!
Some issues:
1. The drag-and-drop system is a bit awkward. It'd be nice if an ingredient only gets deposited into a container when you release the mouse button, not when it enters the container's collision box. I ended up not using any of the storage containers and just piled up the resulting concoctions on the Petri dish before dumping all of them back into the mix, since it's more efficient.
2. My highest score was 302, because when I concocted something more potent (or so I assumed) the numbers and toxicity title completely disappeared from the teapot, despite it still accepting the concoction. Further attempts to submit any other concoctions would not make the numbers and title reappear.
Overall, quite a nice experience. The toxicity titles were pretty funny ('Toxic' in a low level but 'Good' in a high one, for instance), so it was satisfying to get higher scores and see the changes!
Took me a while to understand what to do. I had to look at previous comments to get a few hints. But once I got it, I started making some toxic tea :D
The audio is really really nice, I love the background music, and the small noises when you pick up ingredients is relaxing.
The only think I recommend for this game is to perhaps add a bit more explanation on what we can do / what we should do.
Other than that, great work!
But I really like the alchemy and this game)
