The Llama prophecy foretells of a leader who shall conquer the floating Llama kingdom!

Llamageddon is an online multiplayer RTS set on an unstable soft-body island network. Gain supremacy, preferably before Llamageddon arrives!Banner.pngGIF6.gif GIF9.gif

Windows Chrome and Edge browsers supported. Brave on Windows is partially supported. Safari on Mac is tested. Mobile browsers are not supported.

I'm compiling to Webassembly and using WebRTC for communication which is apparently very flaky. If you see a black screen, please give it a few seconds, it might be downloading. If it doesn't load after 10-15 seconds, please leave a comment stating which browser & operating system combo you're using. Thank you.

Controls:

Drag from one node you own to a connected node. This will send Llamas along the line, attacking if they meet enemy Llamas.

Your colour is shown in the top left UI.

It's not supported with firefox and I don't arrive to play the game with chrome ... :(
Any idea how to test your game ?

Edge works with the game, and it's installed by default with Windows.

There were some issues with mid-game joining that should be resolved now (if you tried already, do a shift+F5 full refresh).
I've tested the Brave browser on Windows and that also works (though without audio).

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GAME. The PvP Free For All mode is my favourite mode, and I'm suprised how many people joined for multiplayer, didn't even have to wait that long.

This looks awesome! But I can't get it to work on chrome. I get a exception thrown at me :m:

Multiplayer for a jam is ambitious as hell but sadly I couldn't get it to work on chrome.

Really enjoyed this! Was really stressful but in a good way! Really enjoyed competing! Music sounds great too!

@pk-c I didn't have time to add a solo mode unfortunately, but you can open two windows to test it out. The interface is a click and drag from node to node which sets an arrow. The colour of your interface in the top left determines which Llama army colour you are.

EDIT: You may also have joined a match mid-game, which means you won't have an army until the next round, so no UI in the top left.

I actually couldn't find another player to play with, so I played with myself from another tab :D It's hard to say much about the actual gameplay without a second player, but it seems like it has potential - gaining more tiles gives you more spawn points so it's much about fighting for a proper amount of bases :) Visually it's pretty good, llamas are super cute and with the music it's creating a really fun mood in the game! I wish there was a solo play mode, but I guess implementing a working multiplayer must be very time consuming, so the lack of solo is understandable. Also apart from the map hanging in the sky and being wobbly, I'm not sure how it fits this game's theme :(

@deav I'm glad you tried it, but yes this game really needs 3 or more players to be fun. The unstable theme comes in the fact that Llamas can fall off the wobbling platforms, which can even break off completely if enough weight is in one place.

Nicely done! Creating a multiplayer game in such a short time is truly impressive in my opinion. I did not have second player to play with, so I tried it by myself.

Surprisingly this is not the first game with llamas I played during this LD :)

Got pretty invested in the strategy of this game. I thought I had lost, but ended up fighting a llama guerilla war for several minutes. Unfortunately llamageddon mode made it impossible to hold out after that (shear firepower overtook them). I'm not sure how the physics factors into the game- my second game immediately ended because of the map falling apart. Fun idea and I enjoyed running some little llama tactics.

@lazyseal Thanks for playing! At the moment it's possible to get a temporary stalemate situation if two players pile into a single edge - the Llamageddon mode is supposed to ensure the game will always end, but the game could do with some extra features to spice things up, such as Llama magic spells to create explosions or fly Llamas around. After the LD voting ends I hope to upload a new version with updates like this.

Bold move to make a multiplayer game as a game jam. I didn't find any players to play with so I resorted to force my kid to play with me. The concept is totally ok but I'm not sure how well it aligns with the theme?
