I think what would make the game more effective is to improve the graphics, to make it more clear that I'm destroying humans. Perhaps have animation of destroyed buildings, and people running around. Also, the human count shouldn't be the number of buildings destroyed, but that times 100 or something.
Lastly, pause for a while at the game over screen because I didn't even have time to read my score.
I liked the concept and theme interpretation though, good job !
The graphics are spot on for what this game is, although maybe an effect or replacement for the cursor would be a nice addition, along with a game over screen rather than just restarting straight away.
