Potions Of Yore by aplite

[raw]
made by aplite for Ludum Dare 49 (COMPO)

As the Brewmaster you are responsible for brewing potions. But beware! If you do not mix fast enough the potion will become unstable, and you will meet a most unfortunate demise!

Instructions:

There are 3 colors: Red, Green, Blue

You must mix the correct amounts to brew the correct potion (match the output color)

Click & hold the pour button for each color to start pouring

The inputs can go below zero, to counter-act this you need to pour in the other colors

Red + Green = Yellow

Green + Blue = Cyan

Blue + Red = Magenta

This was more fun than I expected. I can totally see this game playing on my phone from time to time. Maybe just add some more complex mechanics and I think it would be a cool game to relax to.

Loved the graphics and aesthetics. Just too bad you didn't have any music in the background, but that's understandable for a compo. Good job mate :)

This game is an interesting idea and could be really cool with some polish. Unfortunately for me the physics glitched and the liquid got stuck in the pipes on a few occasions. This made it so I didn't have enough of a certain ingredient in some cases. Like I would need ALL the red and about 5% was stuck in the pipe.

A bit challenging - I tried to beat level 1 for like 5 times, but certainly interesting mechanics, I love that alchemy mood. Agreed with @iluvatar some music and sfx would do a lot. Congratulations for finishing the compo!

Great idea and realisation. Would be cool to be able to more precisely hit the correct amount.

I really enjoyed the idea, and the physics were a nice touch, but I still found it sort of difficult to understand what I was doing. Couldn't get past the first potion. For next time I'd suggest either having clearer instructions, an in-game tutorial or maybe just even some tutorial-esque pics and gifs to demonstrate how to properly play on your itch page or in the game itself.

That the only potion game I'm able to win on that jam. it's just mixing but it's quite intesting and relaxing. i wish music was adding to the mood of the game

Really neat way to implement fluids in your game.

Simple and interesting concept which could work well for a chill game, but having a rather tight timer doesn't go well with the mechanic imo. I'm also joining with the others above that some music or sound effects could add a lot to the mood.

Wow cool idea! very unick) but calculating system is too laggy and its sad( and it will be better with something more looking liquid.

Very neat, my best streak is just 4 potions and I ran out of red liquid during that game. I couldn't complete the potion.
