I liked how you had left and right mouse button punches - much more fun and easier on the RSI than just left clicking. The rage building mechanic is interesting and seems to work pretty well - breaking it up in to stages with a mini loss of control each time until the full rage on filling the bar was neat. Nice use of lifts between the floor makes for a pretty floor transition. Yeah, I didn't get to optimize quite as much as I would have liked, sorry to hear it wasn't perfect for you! The hands-tied bug is definitely a problem, which *can* be solved by dragging yourself against a wall (since they're physics objects), but obviously a player shouldn't be expected to do that haha. Shadow effect is just standard Unity lighting! Each object has either a cube or cylinder attached to it with the &quot;only shadows&quot; mode turned on, and the game is technically running in full 3d, so really not much custom lighting going on :)"},{"author_name":"mariti","author_uid":"57189","time":"Aug 26, 2015 @ 1:20am","epoch":1440551700,"text":"gj. WebGL is so far from ideal performance. If I wasn't a Unity scrub I probably could have done optimization\/system preferences better. \"Faster\" is definitely broken, because I am a Unity scrub.\r\n\r\n\r\nTools:\r\nUnity 5\r\nPhotoshop\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\n3rd Ludum Dare, had a great time as always! This was my first time using Unity, which I am growing more fond of as I adapt to the component based design mentalities. This time, I picked a super ambitious project. I am not terribly pleased with the results, though I am very happy with my takeaways\/learning. \r\n\r\nMechanics are not a game, scope is important, explaining gameplay to users through gameplay is vital, I believe players should be able to go start->finish without ever reading a line of text. Build the smallest complete game first, then build onto it. The elevator effect looks (damn) good, but it wasn't worth sacrificing hours of my first day. Deployment is important, hadn't researched building Unity games before, so the game is hurting in this department. But hey, I know how to do it now, just a little to late to run it through the optimization gates.","title":"Final Circle"}
