It's the moment you've been waiting for. The machine you've worked on for years stands complete in front of you. A powerful piece of technology, it is capable of opening up a dimensional vortex. But the process is dangerous, and the machine might not be stable enough to keep the vortex open. If it closes, you are doomed.

  • Collect pink energy spheres and utilize their energy to stabilize the machine.
  • Use your gun to fend off the intruding red cubes of doom.
  • Your weapon is as unstable as the machine, and will need repairs after repeated use.

Change Log

  • Gun deterioration decreased.
  • Repair cost now scales correctly with stability.
  • Text color changed.

I was unable to play to exe that downloads, says the dll are missing, You may need to zip up the build files for us to download, if you can get them uploaded I will happily come back to play

@nikadra
When you build in unity, point it at an empty folder. When the process finishes, we need the whole folder. Add it to a zip file, then upload that zip file to Itch.io.
You can probably also zip your whole project and attach that to Itch.io too. That way you have your sourcecode for the compo requirement!

Please ping me if you get this sorted! I would love to play and rate your game!

-Cheers!

@lakea @the-lame-brain @caudatecoder @korolles My apologies, the project should now be correctly uploaded. Thank you for the directions, I'm new to building with Unity.

Can confirm, it works now!

:) Nice game! It was pretty fun to jump around and shoot those evil cubes! Veeeeery easy to fall off though! Nice music.

The music is really good. In my opinion, the game lacks good graphics.

Works now!

Pretty fun game! It's clever that most energy flies around the machine so you have to actually move and jump around to get some. Music is pretty good too, I wish there were some sound effects

Good job!

What a fun little game! My favorite moment was when an enemy snuck up from below, and suddenly I was being pushed into the air!
Bit hard to tell what is what, as the enemies and projectiles and my shots and whatnot are all geometric shapes - but it does make for a cool visual style, almost like an fps interpretation of the original vector games (like asteroids)
Very cool!

Thanks for playing everyone!

@ukulelefury Right, I noticed that I would fall off quite often myself. I considered adding some sort of extra mobility (double jump, hover etc.) to counteract this, but alas - as always - I ran out of time!

@korolles I completely agree that the graphics are lacking. A lot of time was wasted trying to get the game to work, and sadly I had to totally rush what little graphics there are.

@caudatecoder Yeah, the lack of sound effects is unfortunate. My plan was to spend the final hours on improving graphics and sound, but (as per usual for me) the time just slipped away.

@ugly-robot I'm glad that you could see something positive in the minimalist graphics! But still, they definitely would have needed a lot more attention. As you say, it's never a good sign if you can't tell things apart.

Ahaha, was looking around for red cubed near the edge and didn't notice one right under me. Got lifted out of the game area by it, as shooting it didn't seem to do anything. (maybe bullets were spawning inside the cube, or maybe didn't have enough ammo / repaired enough)
Waiting for future developments
