the Bar by Very Bad Bunny Studio

Hi and thank you for click in our game! That's our first Ludum Dare in a long loong time, and we a proud of what we did!

The Bar is a Hidden Item game where you don't have control of the location to look at the items, so you need to be fast before the location change and start to look again. There are 15 different items to looking for, and you can check your progress on your cellphone(In-game).

Credits We use the point and click cursor pack made by Kicked-in-teeth, you can check the link below. (Thank you Kicked!)

https://kicked-in-teeth.itch.io/point

We also use the holding cellphone vector, but it's wasn't any name to credit, we will still keep looking for giving the right credits!

And we use some bottles created by rawpixel(freepik).

All the sounds and sound effects we used were from Freesound and the game dev market (Thank you all!)

We hope that you have a really good time playing our game.

This is a neat idea, and I finished the game! I wished though that there were more to do at each location, as I found myself spending a lot of time waiting to get back to the scene I wanted to be looking at.

Nice work!

Whenever you click and hold on the lock in the garden-looking area, it plays the boop sound on every frame. Not a big deal, I just thought it was amusing.

Overall it was a nice, calm respite from all the hectic/frantic games that other people have been making. Nice work!

Good job, I was not sur at the beginning why the location changed but I understood later. It was fun

This was fun, although there is a lot of dead time waiting to get to a place you can actually do something. I had a hard time spotting the key, but it was very rewarding when I did. Very nice work - fun idea, good execution, nice-looking art and fun sounds.

Hello, congrats to your game! :)

It looks good and the sound effects create a nice mood.

Some things to improve, in my opinion:
- For me, the game window is very small. First thing I tried was to maximize it or to zoom in, but neither option is available.
- I think the connection to the theme is a bit weak. The tutorial says "Be careful, it's an unstable environment" which made me expect that something might blow up any moment. After playing the game, I would imagine that refers to the randomly switching scenes, but then I see no reason to be careful because there is no punishment for not uncovering items in time.
- The controls could be more intuitive. I tried to move items by clicking and pulling them to the side, until I found out that you're supposed to just click and hold. I also don't think that it is necessary to use the right mouse button to move around, I think the left mouse button or just moving the cursor to the edges would work equally well.
- The first round is fun, but after that, you know where everything is and I don't see any replay value. Maybe you could have multiple places for each item and each round, they are randomly hidden in one of them? Or maybe add a timer to see how fast you can find every item?
- I don't know exactly which sound effects you use; and if they are all made by you or licensed under CC0, ignore the following. But if you are sourcing from freesound.org, I'd imagine that at least one of them might be CC-BY or similar. If that is the case, "from Freesound" is technically not enough, you have to credit each author individually. See [here](https://creativecommons.org/use-remix/attribution/) for the official suggestion on how to give credit properly. I for one really like the sound effects you used, but I can't easily find out who made them and where I can download them.

Greetings from Germany! :)

The whole game had an foreboding vibe, so I was hoping there would be some kind of twist at the end

I would say that I spent a decent amount of time just waiting to get back the scenes I needed to get the last of the equipment. The artwork and general idea of the game is pretty fun to puts around in. It would be cool if the environmental objects had some more variations.

the knife was the friends we made along the way

very calm game that I thought would be slow enough for me to play while eating sushi bowl. turns out that 15 seconds is not long enough for me to eat and pull a bench. I really thought that the knife would turn out to have some scary murdery twist to it, but I'm equally surprised that its sole use is being a box cutter.

i think the game could use some more... time limited activities? something to give the 15 seconds a bit more weight to it, other than just waiting in the box room for the scene to switch.

The knife requirement I saw as the light at the end of the tunnel. Good atmosphere, well done!

I played this on my stream earlier and there is a lot to like here. It certainly has plenty of flaws, but I didn't find any of them to be critical and the fresh twists on the classic formula were interesting enough to keep me playing. Well done.

Hello everyone and thank you for the feedbacks! We are still looking for time to response all, but I will mention some comments here.

@squirmonkey @falcondance @dob
The dead time was one of the big problems we found, but the time was running out so we decided to leave this way.

@jeinzi
Screen size remains a comfort zone that we need to leave behind, we've never worked on a jam with a size other than 640x480, but it's time to change that. The controls were actually quite different from what we were planning, and with little time to fix we decided not to change and make the situation worse.
About the credits, I really appreciate your comment and your tip, we are separating the links and name of each of the people who made the audios available to give the due credits.

More involved than it looks at first glance. Really clever how you hid two of the items in the park so clearly behind movable objects but kept the third out of sight, leaving it to the player to figure out what to do. ;)

I wish moving objects was a bit faster/more intuitive, though - as pointed out above, you sometimes literally don't have enough time to move an object out of the way before the scene changes. It's also a little frustrating how towards the end there's more time spent waiting for the scene to change back to the one you need than there is actually doing things.

Fun little hidden item game! I do think it took a little too long to switch between screens but other than that, a fine example of what it's meant to be!

Moving things so you could click on things behind them had to be one of the more annoying things to do. I could see the umbrella, I could click on it, but the bench needed to be over just a bit more before it actually counted. NO THE SCENE CHANGED. I started hating that scene change, but figuring out that the scenes corresponded to each other so you could move in one to be in the right place in the other made a huge difference. I did manage to complete it.

I liked the idea! Searching for randomly hidden objects would make it feel fresh on new plays.

The movement mechanic (how to slide the screen, or move objects) wasn't immediately intuitive, but after I figured it out it was fine.

I think what was the least fun for me was waiting at the end for the environment to switch back. Including an indication (like a timer bar) on when the environment would switch might have helped the player feel a little more in control?

Great job! I think you used the free and available assets well :)
