Fragments of Memory by SunnyRx

[raw]
made by SunnyRx for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

It is about a girl who lost her memory and was trapped in a space with only fragments of memory. When she escaped from the space, she gradually remembered her memories.

GIF 2021-10-5 4-32-45.gif You can experience the feeling of stepping on an unstable platform in a gravity-free space.

Most of the memories mentioned in the game come from the feelings we experience in reality.

And I wrote an article to share how I designed this game. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/fragments-of-memory/sharing-of-game-design

This is a very pretty game and does a great job setting the mood both with excellent visuals and the unique style of gameplay. The only thing that kind of ruins it is the music restarting for every attempt / level.

Your artist is insanely talented, these are some top-notch visuals!

I also liked the unique mechanic of floating around and landing on different platforms to spin them. The physics were surprisingly robust!

I think the story ended a bit abruptly, but I'm guessing that probably has more to do with the tight timeline more than anything else.

Great job with this one!

Simple, but I really like it. The art is nice and the background "music" sets a nice atmosphere.

Really good game you have here. The controls were good and the graphics were top notch. I wish respawning was much faster because dying got really frustrating after a while. Camera was also a bit finnicky sometimes. Overall it was a really good game.

It's a cool concept, it's just not perfect in practice, I wish the respawn time was a bit shorter and it was a bit clearer where you were going to land so you don't always blindly jump only to miss a platform.

Overall the game was fun, the graphics and music were great and it helped create an immersive atmostphere, some more levels to help develop the characters and introduce more mechanics would be nice though

Nice art and fitting music selection! The game played pretty well and wasn't overly difficult, though the it would be nice if you didn't have to rewatch the camera cutscene every time you died. Well done.

Very beautiful game! Flying felt good and I enjoyed how the fragments bounced around.

Remember to rate and comment other games, so your game gets pushed higher on the list and more people will see it! This is a game worth playing :relaxed:

Impressive game, the physics mechanics are a delight and the game experience 10/10. I hope I can play it on a platform like the switch, because it gives me many sensations of a game to play quietly in bed. congratulations, it's a masterpiece: 3

The athmosphere feels great and the art is ashtonishing. The music is so relaxing and it fits very well into the mood. The gameplay is very different than what I used to see, so congratulations on the idea. I like it very much.

Great game! I loved the graphics, they were very well made, and a charming part of the game. You left out audio for the ratings, so I can only assume the credit to it wasn't yours, but you still did a good job picking the music out - it was a great touch to the atmosphere and mood of the game. The game mechanic of jumping to each fragment of memory was really fun! I've seen something similar before, but I haven't seen it used too frequently, and the idea to use it with the concept of trying to collect your memory together during unstable times was a neat and innovative idea! The intro to each level was also really nice, though it did start to get annoying after dying several times, when I just wanted to get back to playing and try again. Additionally with that intro, I found that I can begin playing before the intro finishes and the camera locks onto the player. I could just simply learn patience before immediately launching away, but it would definitely be nice if that was just not capable of happening, as it got kind of annoying when I just launched away off screen. Overall though, I really liked this game. Well done!

The art was really good. The drawings themselves a real standout. The controls were simple and easy to understand. Felt like the difficulty from the first to the second level was a little jarring. First level was super easy the second was a little more awkward. Overall had some fun with it.
