Idle Is Bad
So i made a little platformer for the compo, and for my very first (public) game jam ! Just a classic one, with no big intentions, i just made it for fun. Hope you'll like it!
What's in that game ?
Platforms. gasp what an originality ! Nah, like i said, it's classic. The platforms will break under the player's weight, and there's bzzt bzzters. There's only 10 levels currently, and the game automatically saves your progress, as long as you don't do some weird black magic at least
Controls
:computer: only - ↤↦ Left and Right Arrows to move the player - Space to jump, the longer you press, the higher you go - ⇧ Shift to move the camera around
How to play
- Click on the Itch.io link to play in browser :earth_americas:
- Since it might take some time to load, you can download it directly, either with Itch.io or with google drive. Once it's done, unzip the folders, and just launch the Idle Is Bad.exe

Known issues :warning:
- As @dilem mentioned it, i totally forgot to change the default key mapping to WASD, and it currently is in ZQSD. So, unless you can change your keyboard to AZERTY, i strongly recommend you to use the arrows. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll fix it if i get the confirmation that it doesn't go against the rules!

I'm not sure that it counts as a bugfix, so i'll leave it like that just to be sure i don't go against the rules, but i will be able to prevent other people thanks to you!

Something I noticed the aerial movement is that if you are jumping in a certain direction, you will maintain your momentum. However, if you jump in a direction, then tap back in the opposite direction, you will come to a complete stop. That's something that almost feels like a bug, but could be a neat mechanic if you expand upon that.
Getting the timing for jumps right is not always easy, but I enjoyed your submission.
The game itself, like you said, is nothing groundbreaking, but a sweet little project. And as a platformer it performs its mission quite well! Good Job!
Some things I would change are the floaty jump and responsive controls. I liked how there were 10 levels. I felt like I actually accomplished something when I completed the game. Nice work for your first jam :)
