Block'd by JPiolho

Block'd is our take on a Tetris style game with an instability component.
How to play:
Move and rotate blocks to make lines and score points while being attacked by random game glitches. Unlock power-ups as you go.
Block'd includes a global leaderboard. Try your best and see if you can make it. ;)
Thank you for playing! We hope you enjoy our game.

The twists with the glitches make the usual tetris experience so much more hectic, and the graphics are smooth, music doesn't get too repetitive.
The leaderboard was a masterful touch, now this is the only thing I want to play.
But alas, I need to rate other games so goodbye for now.
Awesome entry! Had a lot of fun
Well done!
The power-ups make the game a little bit too easy, maybe the speed could increase during the game?
Are you using a bag of pieces or do you generate them randomly?
The logo is looking good however, because of the eyes, the "O" kinda looks like a "A", which is awkward.
The "mind of their own" can be frustrating because we cannot anticipate the switches. You could start shaking the piece to signal an imminent movement from the piece.
I did not have enough time to read the bonuses, what about waiting for a click before hiding the pop up?
I had fun, I'm 2nd at the time. :D
Onto the gameplay. First of all, I played this much for much longer than I anticipated. This was a fun twist to the Tetris game, and I was pining for the top 10 throughout. Alas, I only got to the 19th position. But it really speaks to your implementation of the genre that I played for so long.
Some things got somewhat annoying though. Firstly, the "Mind of their own" glitch was rough to play against. I think it was a handicap that took away from the fun of the game rather than one that added to it. RNG without any indicators or counters can be tough to balance, and I think this one missed the mark.
Other than that, all the other glitches were fun. I'm sure these could be expanded upon even more, leaving you with the basis of a fun and unique entry into the genre. Great job, and I hope you do well in the jam!
The blocky animals were super cute too :heart_eyes_cat:
This might be a bit of a brag... but I played the game twice and I made it to #1 and #2 on the leaderboard, and I kinda don't want to keep playing because the leaderboard will end up being filled with my name. You should probably consider filtering the leaderboards so it shows just one entry per name.
Nicely done!
