Great work!
It felt a bit odd to me that the outcome seems to be the same whether you succeed or fail (You try again with more obejects).
But overall a fun experience and a good idea. Nice work!
As said @jk5000 is very hard to find the right balance, maybe you could add information to help the player : show the gravity center after adding a block, show blocks' mass...
Or increase the difficulty only if player find the right balance.
When blocks are merged, the physics explode and some blocks fall, that can be annoying. You should disallowed the player to merge blocks.
The render is very nice, the light is beautiful and the music fit well with the gameplay. The falling guy sound doesn't fit with the rest of the game, try to use another fx or something more musical.
Overall, great entry.
it might be better if there are a list to show what are next objects.
Some polish ideas:
- A preview of all the pieces to add each round would help the player plan their "build" better.
- Some kind of feedback (but not too much?) on where your balance is before each attempt
- Ability to place items beneath existing items
- Some kind of influence once the walker is in motion (tilt controls on a mobile device would be funny as hell)
