Unstable Machine LD49 by albertmixalev

[raw]
made by albertmixalev for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

yellow.gifThis is my first jam. I started later because of work on weekends, but I tried to have time to implement the idea. I simplified a lot in the end, because this is my first experience and I could not calculate the time correctly. There is no music in the game, but I hope you enjoy the rest.

Stabilize the energy in the machine and find out its true purpose.

The gameplay was nice but some music with it would definitly make it really great!

Simple Gameplay, but fitting the Theme. Sometimes I felt like I hit a letter, but did not get it. The visuals are just amazing. Good Game.

I liked the way the game looked and played, just kind of wished there were more feedback as to how well I was doing-it was kind of hard to keep an eye on the gauges while trying to hit the timing correctly.

Gameplay was simple but fun. But as the others said the sound broke my ears!

:) Simple and fun rhythm game! I really like the art. The sounds are good, but could definitely use more of them! And music of course. Great game!

Pretty cool! I really like the blueprint-esque 2d artstyle. Congrats on your first jam!

Nice game! The art style is pretty cool and unique. The bit at the end when you get the machine working did get a chuckle out of me.

I will say though that I think the game could have used some more feedback when you actually hit the keys, probably some kind of sound queue. It just kind of feels weird to play a DDR type game in mostly complete silence.

I really like the blackboard aesthetic. Congrats on getting something done!

Many thanks to everyone for the feedback! It's really unusual for me to receive so many comments. Sorry for the sounds and lack of music, I wanted to add this, but I didn't meet the time.

Nice and simple. Like others have said some sort of feedback on hitting and missing the keys would improve the game.

I really liked the art style!
The game is nice. The sound needs a little work, very loopy, lacking the soundtrack.
The gauges were impossible to track mid-game (especially the red one that I noticed only after I finished the level). Also it bothered me a bit that after the first level that I had to click "start" again, a little light or some other indicator would be nice.
Also found two tiny bugs:
- The gauges continued to drain as the last keys dropped after you completed the level.
- If you press q\w\e before the level starts, you will cause a level reset.

Simple but interesting game! Look forward to more machines in the game.

Amazing art style, loved it, very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The only issue I have with this game is the lack of visual or audio feedback when I hit the key at the right moment (e.g. I was expecting Q, W, E to become highlighted or change their color).

Nice one! As other have said, I wish there was a soundtrack and some feedback (audible or otherwise) when pressing the key correctly.

Totally sick game, artstyle felt really coherent and really pleasant and unique! I love rhythm games and this was a really good one for such a short amount of time. Others have already mentioned that this game wants a soundtrack or even a metronome badly, but other than that great job! You should be proud, great little game!
