Other than that, great work!
I found the best strategy was just legging it, and just hoping to catch the flying egg at the end :D
Loved the attention to detail though, great quotes, crisp and crunchy eggshell sounds, and physics simulation on the broken egg all make for a very immersive experience. Well done!
The egg and turning was a sticking point for us as a team during the jam too.
@raph-gi which border do you mean?
the walk animation is crazy unstable. the walking physics is also interesting, it seems to track some kind of momentum, which resulted in me getting stuck at the bottom of the ramps several times, which was frustrating, because i would have been able to catch my flying egg if i hadn't gotten stopped on the ramp.
there were a few times where the tiny gaps between the tiles became visible, resulting in glitchy (unstable?) looking visuals. maybe put a very slight overlap between tiles? (like, have the tile size slightly smaller than the sprite size)
i made it to the fire, but my egg fell into the fire, and i still lost :(
i liked all the egg related quotes, added to the charm of the game.
The movement was kind of an experiment in using force instead of controlling velocity for extra physics fun so there are definitely a few problems with the slopes, on the other hand the vectors aren't normalized either so you can do some insane jump and trick shots if you hit the slope just right to get a speed boost.
Egg is good, good work!
Your idea is so great. Very good job.
I disagree with those complaining about the egg not staying when you turn. I was surprised by it, but eventually I realised that in some levels, using a fall to safely turn around is part of the challenge. I think it's clever.
I don't know how many levels there are, but I stopped on level 3. I could get all the way to the end, but just not make the final jump. It felt like the only way I'd be able to do it is just play over and over again until I got lucky with the physics, and by that point I had already got past the point of being fed up.
I'd also echo some of the sentiments about turning around being a death sentence. I think it's fine to leave the turning in, and even leave it so the egg doesn't follow. That third level definitely uses that for an interesting challenge. But also, I think there needs to be a way to recover from that, because right now even if you can catch it facing the other way, you might as well drop it because you're stuck.
Overall, I liked it more than I expected I would. It felt really good to beat the second level. But I went away frustrated, which generally isn't a good thing.
Were there any more levels?! I felt like I was so close - but I just couldn't after that

I found the game challenging in a fun way.
I agree that being able to recover from turning would be nice.
Overall an eggtastic entry.
@joeshanahan There are 5 levels total. I really appreciate the youtube playthrough! It made me laugh watching your egg cracking montage and it definitely gave me better insight to see how other people might approach controlling the game, which I probably didn't think about enough because this was my first game jam. Thanks again for your video and tenacity in level 3 lol
Great game, but you're all terrible people for making this :P
The game looked great and well put together and the little animations of the eggs to collect and fire etc meant it didn't feel too static but more alive. However, I did feel a bit distracted by the walking animation. It was possibly a little too quick and jerky in contrast the the smooth movement of the egg. Maybe try slowing it down but that's a very minor detail!
I can see from earlier comments that there were multiple levels which is nice although I have terrible coordination so rage quit quite quckly although the addition of the funny quotes was great and added to the replayability. They kept me trying a few more times just to read them!
Overall, really well put together entry feeling like a full, polished game! Congrats!
Edit: just went up to do star ratings and loving the egg pun titles!
