@jakobthequizguy We really wanted to get a hit indicator in but ran out of time, though I'm wondering if a small QOL feature is acceptable to add in after the fact alongside bugfixes?
@100th-coin The cutscenes were incredibly fun to make! I've been looking for an excuse to make an FMV since I started doing the Ludum Dare and I'm so happy a chance finally came up
@chris1919 There is an end! The keycards eventually unlock the final blue door at the start which takes you to a final boss fight. Glad you enjoyed it!
THE.
WHAT.
You should have seen me in front on my screen. First, the beginning cutscene appeared, and I was like "Oh wow, this is cringe, I guess it's one of *these* games".
Then, the game started, and OH BOY, everything made sense.
Of course, it was not cringe. It was GLORIOUS. I was just too hopeless to believe in such a masterpiece, but DAMN. I don't know what happened in your mind to come up with such an idea, but WOW.
Here are a few little points of improvement here and there, but nothing too serious :
- As it has been said, a hit indicator would have been nice ^^
- I don't get the Security guards attack... Do they just hit from anywhere ? Is it avoidable ?
- The relationship with the theme only influences the graphical aspect (a lady in a mall, a "rage" meter instead of "health") but not the gameplay itself.
Congratulations on this mind-blowing entry. I think I need to take a break before continuing reviewing games, I still didn't come back from yours.
This videos lifted the spirits and set the necessary atmosphere.
Awesome game!
Loads of fun
(I would make it so the security guys do not hitscan from far, but it's minor)
Great job, very unique entry!
I can appreciate how silly these enemies are; however, I think the security guard enemy is a bit too difficult. It took me a while, after losing twice, but I did end up getting the keycards and beating the game. I liked how whimsical the boss fight was, but I wasn't a fan of the lack of an ending of some sort.
The music is alright, though the in-game music is a little quiet. Also, this game kinda takes a back seat to the theme.
Ultimately, I think you all did a pretty good job!
I'd love more shot/hit detect feedback, I have no idea when my shots/hit land
Champagne 10/10
I really love all the little details you put into characters, sound, ambiance.
This old school doom view with the little head of grandma down in the middle.
Really loved that game :D
