Fantastic. In every way. This is a superb game that hit's the nail on the head in every way. Perfect take on both the theme and the 'behind the scenes' of Mario. A fantastic entry into the jam and an all round perfect execution. Excellent work.

Ridiculously, ridiculously clever. Funny. Fun. Awesome job. And hopefully Nintendo will get the joke and won't bring a lot suit against you.

One man's struggle with depression, drugs and psychosis, presented through the medium of Super Mario Bros.

The jump was a bit speedy for comfort though :p

Absolutely excellent. Taking such a classical reversal and then sticking to it so devoutly has paid off handsomely. So many delicious nods and references. Also loved the music! Good job!

That was fantastic. Thanks for not making me restart the million times I fell off the edge.
My initial though when I saw mario was "Oh I need to jump on his head!"
Then I remembered I'm the goomba.

Oh, such a cool idea! With everything running in reverse, even the world counter!

I'm really impressed!

I did not expect that. World F-B is utterly horrifying in the best way possible.

The level counter going backwards is great too. Although I have to wonder, what is Luigi doing there?

Hahaha that was a fun game :)
A bit easy, you can feel mario weak and has a stupid attack :)
That was real fun, and visuals really feel like NES stuff...
I loved the storytelling and weird ending ! Great humor.

Loved how well you put the narrative together and separated them by chapter. The audio was amazing and it was fascinating hearing bits and pieces of Mario corrupted by something more sinister. Loved the story and it got actually pretty creepy. Great game!

Really fun! I felt very sad for Goomba at the beginning but... what a dark secret at the end of the game! Our entry, The Curse of Koomba, has a veiled homage to Goomba! The main character is a monstrous mushroom. And his name is not a coincidence xD

This is super polished in a really impressive way. This could have been done lazily and still gotten the point across but you put the effort into it and it shows. Well done!

The first idea I had and dismissed... Turns out it had the potential to be one of the best games of the jam. Fantastic work.

I'm so glad I played this! Such an awesome and creepy vibe. I especially liked how, almost every step along the way it could have ended and still been a complete work. Like, if it had ended at the end of Chapter 1, I would have been satisfied with the experience. If it had ended after killing Mario once, I would have been happy. Even with just level F-F and a different ending I would have been happy. You all took it to the next level, turned it up to 11, as they say.

Did you ever play Super Plumber Bros? It was ZNCatLaw's entry in a previous dare, and I think you might enjoy it as it is also a radical deconstruction of Super Mario Bros. Basically, I consider our teams to be blood brothers now. Link:

Brilliant. Plays well, and has a great, twisted little storyline.

(I didn't give a score for graphics as most of it seemed to be original SMB artwork.)

A gripping rendition of the tyranny and social stigma endured globally by the marginalised Goombas. I pray for all the Goombas of this world to emancipate themselves from the chains of oppression.

Would reccommend.

LOL! Awesome game - really well done. I loved how you finished making a complete story about the "behind the scenes" world of the Goomba.
