Unstable orbit by itsmebutsolo

You're on a spaceship trying to escape and orbit around an unstable star. Radiation is constantly damaging your systems. Good thing someone left all those repair kits in space.
Gameplay
WASD.
White bar on top of the screen is your health. Dodge asteroids, pick up the repair kits. There is no ending.
Technical
First ever compo game. Made in <48 hours in pure Rust (wgpu, specs), mostly as a learning exercise for all of those. Not very much was accomplished, compared to using an engine, still, I had fun, no regrets.
Please tell me if those builds don't work

I tried to execute it as a program in the terminal and got this error:
"./ld49: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.32' not found (required by ./ld49)"
@shmador Yeah, asteroid despawning isn't one of the things I had time to implement, the idea being that you can just wait a bit before pressing Enter for the second time between retries. 😅
@mateu Thank you! You being alive means you're doing well.😃 But yes, I suppose some sort of a timer would add a bit of challenge between retries. So much things to do, so little time...
@dob Yeah, I've noticed that it's quite hard to tune difficulty for ld games, especially if random things are involved. Difficulty ramping up was initially planned, but I ended up running out of time.
I like meteorites having a faces, or only I can see it :scream:
The inertia of the ship is very good, satisfactory control over it. Grats!
Maybe objects could spawn from the star to represent more intense bursts of radiation and support your theme.
