Description

The Dwarves of Mount Deep have dug deep down each mountain, exhausting all their resources.

One night, a group of three dwarves stared at the sky, and found it filled with diamonds!

They built an unstable rocket ship within a volcano, blasting themselves into space!

And so, they became the Dwarves of Mt. Deep Space.

That was super fun, really good job! Soundtrack was great to keep me going, graphics and audio fit very well, overall very clean and nice presentation. Nice touch on customizing your crewmates.
The gameplay felt really good, being able to pick the crewmates back up gives the player a second chance, which I liked.

Loved it, was hard to steer when I lost too many dwarfs. But I kind of liked that at the end. In a post jam powerups that let you blow up the big asteroid would be awesome.

I gave you my feedback during the stream earlier, but I wanted to comment again that this was a fun take on a classic concept and the pilot/rocket turning ability mechanic is excellent.

This game was a lot of fun, once I found a good tactic for the game I had tons of fun trying to get my people back into the ship and get as many gems.

Ended with 15k points ^^

Very fun game!

Been hearing a lot of mixed opinions about the game being either really difficult or easy. @simpathey, for example, hitting 20k points pretty comfortably, while others struggle to breach 5k. Turns out there's a great bug where my asteroid spawner is detecting gems as something it can't spawn an asteroid on top of. Greed kills, I suppose; it's a feature now!

Anyway, this project was a blast to work on, but I'm off to greener pastures. There's a lot of quickly cooked spaghetti code which I can't be bothered to unravel. That's just the nature of a gamejam, I suppose; lot of work to be done real quick.

Nice little gem here. The sound design was very good, the art was simple but clean and punchy. Very polished asteroids clone with a twist.

Amazing feel, I liked the music a lot, the short starting story was cool. The only "useful" critical feedback I can give is that its a bit too hard not to bump everywhere with the fact you have to rotate the direction, but great game nonetheless, thank you!

I love the music! I also love the health mechanic where the characters just fall out of the ship, very funny. The shooting didn't feel satisfying enough, I would've liked it being weaker but a lot faster, for example. Good game!

Really like the opening session of this game to use Constellations shapes to introduce the story! And the idea of sending dwarfs up to the sky is also very funny!

Wow, this reminds me of Astro Fire! Really cool graphics and music, the dwarfs style is very funny and i really appreciated that you can lose a pilot and the rocket cannot rotate in that direction. I would enjoy the game more with an increased speed of the rocket but great job!

Loved the music a lot. My only feedback would be the pacing. The fire rate could be tweaked a bit as it felt sluggish. Or even quantized to the BPM of the song. There were occasions where the fire sound effect was seconds off of the music and it took me out of the atmosphere of the game. Overall, very fun though!.

Lol this is very funny. The music is absolutely banging. Love the transition when it kicks in feels good. Them falling out and having to catch them is very funny too. Good job.

@tyler-hahn That's a great idea, actually. Kind of annoyed at myself that I didn't come up with that.

Loved the graphics! The idea of the dwarf flying off the ship with a very serious face got me in tears
Very nice game! Congratulations!

Its a polished, modern take on Asteroids (which sorely needs visuals as good as these). Was also pleasantly surprised that you included not only an opening cutscene but also character customization! Definitely don't expect that in any game jam game. Keep mining!

Hey everyone, thanks for the amazing feedback so far! Kimberly and I both worked hard on this and the last LD jam together, and it’s so great and uplifting to see this has been just as positively received as the last one. It’s been a blast (pun absolutely intended)!

Like last time, I’ll be making a full version of the track which will be uploaded to my SoundCloud account (link in the description). Stay tuned!

Wow, what a solid entry! I enjoyed it! So funny when the Dwarf are leaving the spacecraft when hitting and are unable to use 1 engine ^^

Congratulation.

Lovely take on an old classic.

The "lives" mechanic here is wonderful, and makes for some tense situations especially as things start to spiral out of control

The graphics and music were also lovely.

Nice work!
