Really amazing game. The music made the whole experience! Simple game play made immersive because the atmosphere and the sounds were just incredible.
The only piece of feedback i have is that the progression of game play didn't quite make sense. When i fell, i started at an arbitrary point it felt. It would be more intuitive if i knew the check points i was passing - something as simple as text popping up saying "you've passed a checkpoint" so i get some bearings on how far i've come and how far i need to go still.
Other than this, it was really fun. Really well done - and nice job on the compo :)
@britt-henderson that's because I'm obviously your Mr. Hyde, dear Dr. Handerson. You're absolutely right on the checkpoints, I should have made them obvious with some graphical effect. I had to cut so much I wanted to do and this was one of those things.
@nyxkn Sorry to hear that, it turned out harder than I wanted it to be. When I have time I'll probably expand on this and tweak the difficulty right, so stay tuned!
The rotating camera was a cool idea, really made the game a lot harder. With that in mind, it was fantastic that you were so liberal with the check points. Thanks to that I was able to finish the game which is always cool!
Great use of the theme, great music and overall a great experience! :trophy:
@ubershmekel yeah the cannons are there as a distraction mainly. Obstacles that require you to lean to some direction is a great suggestion, thanks!
@pbg there are checkpoints, but the game is one unique first level. Sorry about the difficulty, it's way higher than I intended.
