The controls are confusing but once you get the hang of it, they are very nice. You chose the music and effects well, not everybody that makes games do that, so congrats. This could be the start of a mobile game post-jam

Controls took a while to understand and longer to get used to. Slow falling when not touching the walls and then falling faster when sliding down the walls felt confusing. Really great music, definitely very cohesive with the art.

Very nice once! In addition to Downwell, it reminded me of the VVVVVV, but vertical. Also, controls feel good

Super fun game, the controls feel great, the combat is fun and the movement mechanic works super well and feels awesome when you get the hang of it. The graphic style is simple but works super well for this game, and my only complaint is the difficulty stays pretty consistent even if you go pretty far down. But all around excellent game!

This is awesome! Super fun to play, and with just a little more polish could go a long way. The control scheme was unique and fun to get the hang of. I felt like the camera movement was a little disorienting, the way it would shake/go up whenever I dashed. But that's my only complaint really. Overall I'm really impressed with this one. Great idea and I encourage you to keep going with it!

Fun little game, I would have put attack on the down arrow though, that's what I instinctively went for. The color shifting is a nice touch.

Great tight little game with a solid gameplay loop. Maybe using the down arrow for the downwards strike would have been more intuitive.

Great game. Cool art and game play. Controls are confusing at first but feel rewarding once you get the hang of them. Great job.

The controls take a minute to get used to, but it's pretty fun once you do! It's difficult to discern what you should be avoiding and collecting since it's all the same color though. Nice work otherwise!

You're definitely right that the controls make more sense when you play! I really liked the system once I got the hang of it; you got a lot out of just the left and right keys. The game has a nice level of polish, the music was a great choice.

Great game, with good graphic and a solid concept, but I feel like the controls were uselessly complicated. Why not having an "attack" button and a "down" button ? Having to press a button twice is always tedious ^^'. Otherwise, this game have a lot of potential !

Art, audio, everything, it's all amazing and fun. The controls took me some time to get used to (the down slash should be the down arrow in my opinion) but overall after that it's just all skill and all fun!

Omg how come this game has so little rating. It's soo cute, very intuitive and fun to play. Thanks a lot for making it! :)

If this were on steam (or better yet - mobile!) i'd buy it in an instant. Please expand upon it and release it, it's a really cool concept. One thing that bugged me though is that it sometimes gets a little dull when i'm falling down and there's not much around me. Maybe add a button to speed up the descent sometimes?

Nice little game ! Controls are maybe a little difficult to understand at the beginning but the game is quickly become nice to handle ^^!

It maybe just becomes difficult to lose when you completely understand controls and patterns.

I like the art, and the palette change is nice!
The mechanics feel a bit weird though. I'm not sure why but maybe part of it is because you fall slower than you slide down walls.
Or the fact that you can't easily attack an enemy that is close to you:
if it is just under you, you have to dash away, wait to fall to his level and then press the dash button fast two times (or dash and press down really fast so you don't go too far away).
And if it is just next to you, you have to press the dash button 2 times really fast in order to attack before you reach it.

I agree with the other commenters that suggested to use the down arrow for the down dash/attack. And in that case you could make the dash be automatically an attack, so you don't have to press twice. I feel like that would be more intuitive

This was a really fun little arcade game, and though it is clearly inspired by Downwell it also feels significantly different. Once I got the hang of the controls I had a blast, the sound effects and pixel art help a lot to make the game feel very snappy and quick even as you're falling fairly slowly. As others have said, it would be more intuitive to use the down button to slash down, and have the sideways dash double as an attack. But otherwise this was really fun, great job!

Thanks for the kind words and great feedback all! I have finally finished playing all of your games and was crazy impressed by literally all of them!

I am definitely going to be experimenting with different control schemes.I tried to keep it to 2 buttons so it would work well on mobile but didnt quite get that working in time. @obelex your auto-dash-attack idea is good. I'll defeintely try that. Thanks!

I also really need to sort out that fall speed. tbh I had that in for dev purposes and never got around to fixing it. ha. :face_palm:

Nice job!
I like the controls a lot, they are pretty nice and easy to understand. One suggestion may be to make a little slow when the character hits and enemy. I had problems analizing the situation when I hit one, but the overall of the game is pretty fun! Well done!

Great game! The controls took a bit to get used to for me. I did get it in the end and it was fun to play at that point! Was there a reason not using the downkey for dashing down? Overall fun to play!

@korfi I didn't use down because i only wanted to use 2 button so it would translate well to mobile. But i never got the mobile version made in time so was confusing for no real reason. After cleaning up the spagetti mess I left during the jam, control schemes are at the top of the list!
Thanks for the feedback!!
