Nightcrawler by Hjalte500

[raw]
made by Hjalte500 for LD33 (JAM)
Of the people,
by the people,
eat the people.

A not entirely finished game about being a mouth with legs. Eat as many people as you can and enjoy the cape physics.

Controls:
Mouse for camera
wasd for movement
LMB for attack
Shift for run(crawl)
Shift + W near buildings for climbing
Space for jump
1 to taunt
R to restart
Alt + F4 to quit

Stealth kill by walking behind someone and eating that fucker.

Btw this might be a bit hard to run so if your pc resembles a potato in any way you might want to turn down the graphics. Long load times are normal.

There are almost as many bugs in this game as there are in my room right now so please keep that in mind. This was more of an exercise of 3D development and texturing. Thank you for playing!

Also thanks to button masher bros for playing our last game and we did put a cursor lock in this time..

Animation/Rigging/Skinning from Mixamo.com
Sounds from a bunch of different places
The ground texture was shamefully taken from google.

People you dont know made this game:
Thomas Frank: 3D Guy Max
Gustav Palmgren: Church-man
Hjalte Tagmose: 300-line broken AI man
Michael Riggelsen: Cape/Particle-guy
Gustav O: Lamppost guy.

Tools:
Unity 3D
Visual Studio
3DS Max
PhotoShop
Skype

Mac build might not work.

As you have mentioned in the description there are many animation and collider bugs but still nice try. I liked the monster design. Cape is going crazy after a while though :)

I love the artstyle. This - bugs + story + more polish would make a great game. And I found a bug. Sometimes when climbing the big tower (church?), I could fly

Good try and good graphics , as you build it in 72H it would be quite difficult , as we know , and also thanks for playing our game , we would also improve ,

This looks really interesting. Any chance you could provide a Mac port?

The cloak was real nice, and I enjoyed running and jumping across the rooftops despite clipping into a lot of them.

As an exercise for texturing, I'd say good job!

Hey thanks for putting a mac build up for me.. but it doesn't work :( It says:
The application "Nightcrawler.app" can't be opened.

definitely didn't look like you had much time to polish, but I liked the artistic style you had going.

The graphics is nice. All the models and animation are hard work!

The graphics and mood are fantastic. It's clear that you didn't have much time to polish, but this game was still interesting. I'd recommend the creation of a post-ludum version

I wasn't able to play this on OSX, and while I've played other games on parallels, this one only showed a blank screen for me :( It's too bad, this looks like one of the prettier games in Ludam Dare this time around.

Nice. Reminds me of the song by Judas Priest.

While the game is buggy I think it was amazing for the time it had to be made in. There was a lot of attention to detail on the scenery. I do feel like the animations were a bit slow, the villagers mostly.
