TRPG-like by ldds

[raw]
made by ldds for LD33 (JAM)
TRPG-like (to be worked on)

features:
- dual wielding
- attack based on body part
- minimal map (4x4) to strategize

missing features that I'd love to implement:
- different graphics
- add many more parts, instead of only swords!
- add an dummy or random AI
- add a good AI

I had no time left so it's a hot-seat multiplayer game, where all information is available to both players at the same time.

I wasn't entirely sure what was going on. A small tutorial would be nice, but it looks like a good start on a strategy game!

Seems like a very interesting game, but I'm unsure of how to properly play. A tutorial or clearer instructions would likely be helpful.

I got a sword and moved around the map a bit. Having labels on the commands would be nice. The text in the lower right was helpful.

Seems like fun, but feels unfinished :(
Couldn't understand the part with the armors.

Somehow I managed to play it =/
It is basically a "chess-like" game, but Monsters Vs. Heroes
Didn't get the point of placing the characters on it, since the highlighted spots are always the same (I think that I be able to put a monsters on heroes side, and vice versa, is a bug)
And I picked a sword and didn't equiped it on that time and it was lost forever, it continued in the screen but I was never able to equip it again.

I liked the idea, but everything is messy ;(
Sorry, better luck in the next time

@RedFil you are right. I just did not have enough time. 72 hours is not enough time. #_#

Seems incomplete, but that shouldn't stop you from completing it. Nice entry.

Its a versus game (hot seat) and the gameplay is maybe too slow. But nice try and keep improving your skill making more and better games ;-)

I had a tough time figuring out what was going on. Maybe spend some more time on it and upload a post-jam version.

Looks like it can become a very in depth turn based strategy with more development.
The GUI needs some work, it feels like it takes too many clicks to do simple actions like moving or attacking.

I like the way you can disarm the opponents.

Interesting idea, but a little clunky. I didn't understand that the pieces at the bottom were hands at first. I like the tactical nature though.

This was a bit confusing. I think that more needed to be put into teaching the what to do and what is happening.

A shame it feels it wasn't finished, I see something great here that I would love in a finished product. Here is hoping you guys are considering a post compo!

Tricky to play, as it's actually quite a complicated system underlying the game. Felt like a bit too much effort to play - the interface could be streamlined a lot to require less clicks, and I'd probably have started with a basic level set up rather than having the players place everything before they could play. Overall though, good effort, I like it!
