Lich Rising by juxipolo

[raw]
made by juxipolo for LD33 (COMPO)
Hail, oh great and merciless Lich, for you have risen once again. The Dark Lord calls!

You play as the Lich, a master of the unliving. You want to end the world, if only those pesky humans would let you. Defend the sacrificial altar, don't get yourself killed again, and put a stop to the humans once and for all by destroying their settlement.

Controls:
WASD: move around the map
Left click: select a unit
- Click and drag: select a group of units
- Double click: select all units of the same type
Right click: move or attack selected units to the target
Space bar: select the lich, or center the screen on it
F: halt previous actions for selected units

Spells:
Select a spell with a key or the on screen button. Your spells use dead bodies to spawn minions. After selecting a spell (it will turn blue) right click on a coffin to cast the spell. Each spell has a cooldown after being cast.
Q: Zombie - a slow, but tough minion
E: Spider - a fast close range minion
R: Skull - a floating skull that spits fireballs

Enemies:
Humans come in waves. Several types are brave enough to fight you.
Villager: a weak idiot, but there are a lot of them
Archer: uses a crossbow to attack from a distance, like a coward
Knight: a weak idiot, wearing armor
Balista Tower: buildings that will fire at anything that approaches

Fun game! I destroyed the last Tower. It remembers the good old RTS, and a bit of Dota. Cool game!

Wow this is really impressive. Probably one of the most complex and yet fully functional LD game I played so far. Even with a full tutorial! I really like the idea of using your dead enemies as the ressource to spawn your own new units.

Wow, I'm surprised to see how complete this is. I don't think I could do a basic RTS like this in two days.

Sweet ! A RTS game !

Very complete mechanics for this type of game in such a short time. I like the "resources" management system.

May the Dark One rise in peace.

Wow, great job implementing all those RTS controls! Quite enjoyed the top-down-but-still-3D style with clear and vivid units, and the voices were great too! Very nicely done. :)

The controls are a bit hard to use, but it's an incredibly well done RTS for a Ludum Dare. Well done!
