Very nice game. I love the humor of the concept (your Quarterback have a strong arm to say the less).
You may want to make the game a bit easier on the first yards to let the player be confortable with the controls

Nice entry!

First of all, this is a hilarious and inspired premise. There are 3500 entries so far for this Ludum Dare and I would be surprised if any of them did anything similar.

The variety of areas is very nice, especially since they all have mechanical differences rather than just being a reskin of the same level. The character jumping in a boat to cross the ocean was unexpected and the animation was great. My only gripe with the graphics is that there were occasional moments where I wasn't sure quite what the hitboxes were supposed to be; but they were generally pretty forgiving. The "LD" in the touchdown zone and jersey number 48 were nice touches.

The music was varied enough that it didn't get stale after playing several times. It would have been neat if the instrumentation changed based on the biome you were in (also PSA --- there's a Musescore 3 now!).

Nice work for 48 hours!

Groaning before I even started the game. Well played =)

Gameplay is fun, and a good difficulty lvl. Graphics are satisfying. Whole premise is hilarious.

Really cool idea! The art is really well made and makes this game stand out. The music is really good and works well for a game like this. There weren't to many sound effects but the ones that are there fit. The gameplay itself was simple but evolved and kept things interesting. Overall this is a really polished and well made game and a solid entry.

Really great game! Man that quarterback has one heck of an arm. Awesome graphics, great piano music in the background, and the difficulty was perfect. It was hard enough to really challenge me, while also easy enough that it was frustrating when I messed up because I knew it was my own fault. Really cool and unique concept, really just great game overall. Well done!

P.S. This is the first game that I've given all 5 stars on!

i love the absurd concept of just going deeper. i dont know if theres anything past the snow level but i imagine the player going into more abstract places. i also liked getting to see all the progress i made when making the catch. i think the art could maybe use improvement if you wanted to make a proper release but for a jam it really adds charm to the game . heres my best distance

I did not get far, but that was fun!

I had to edit your code a bit to run it on linux, but I really liked your take on the theme, and the attention to detail. The football players all have different numbers!

Really nice game! It was a very creative take on the theme, and this game was hard to put down. Although the game was excellent, I do have some suggestions:

1. If you had a simple tutorial, it would of helped me get used to the game.
2. If you made the start a bit more easier (slower enemies, less enemies, etc.) it would help a lot of new players get used to the controls.

Overall, I thought that this was an extremely addicting and fun game.

like others have mentioned the start is a bit difficult when just starting but had a blast running way past the football field! Great work and fantastic idea!

I don't think I'm in the field anymore...

This is my kind of game. The games that take a very simple idea, then upscale it to the silliest concept possible. I went on this thinking it'd be different levels or something, but when I found out that it was all a single sprint, I was amazed. When the quarterback kept running past the field and into upcoming traffic, I cracked up laughing like a madman.

I've played a bunch of games on this jam. Plenty of amazing ones, othes with great gameplay, and others very thoughtful. This compo entry is, as far as I'm concerned, the funniest one I've played on this jam, just because of how ridiculous it is.

Gameplay is good, presentation is fine, the music is unintrusive, but it all comes together to create a quirky, enjoyable, hilarious and absurd experience. Ludum Dare was made for things like these! :whale:
