How can I go sleep now?

The wing speed is determined by a sine function to give a flapping effect, as is the wiggling of the body. The "flight" of the moth (once freed) is entirely emergent from the counteractive force of its limb movement and tail wiggling, there is no gravity to overcome.
Nice (or rather not nice) little experience and very well executed. The only thing I can think of that could be improved is moth's behavior. It could have a bit more variety, maybe be a bit more sporadic.
I agree about the moth behavior but it took me so long to actually beat it the first time during the jam that I was terrified of changing anything after I'd proven that it worked.
I don't think this is a game that needs to be revisited but given more time/less laziness I would have liked to have made it less predictable. Thanks for the feedback.
I was really curious as to how the moth works, so I was happy to read your explanations on the comments, I learned a few things today
The idea is very innovative! :)
gameplay Simple and effective !
The art, the sound, the gameplay were good.
Deeper and deeper into one's ear... Quite a disturbing concept. Gives me chills !
Nice idea even though it's really unconfortable...
Very neat interpretation of the theme.
Fantastic presentation. Great art. Disgustingly thematic.
Great entry, simple and most likely one of the most memorable entries of this jam.
While all the challenge of the game comes from the floppy ear-picking instrument, it'd be nice if it was just a tad stiffer. As-is, it's very difficult to come up with a technique that can be perfected through trial and error.
I didn't even know if it was possible to get it out but I kept trying and I did!
Great job the art is perfect, the music fantastic and the design hilarious and very adapted to a compo game.
Congrats 🦟
Great idea.
Only issue I can across (playing on web) was after extracting the moth, I couldn't see a way to reset and try again other than resetting the page
Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD:

I especially love the contrast between the horrible goal and the nice and comforting color palette.
I really struggle to get the moth out and I some point I was able to do it using the other end of the tool and I think its beautiful.
make me think about game design a lot ; maybe some time less is more :smirk:
