DogPoop by janiq
Hi,
i made a game about a terrible person that has to keep the enviroment clean by scaring away the nice dogs to prevent them from pooping. Also part of the job is to clean the poops otherwise lots of bad smell will appear as green smell clouds. Beware the dogs are smart and will avoid you if you try to approach them.
Controls:
Game is controlled entirely by the mouse left button.
Click&Hold to select the dog/poop you want to attack and release to attack. The guy will then follow its target.
Double click to move to the location without attacking anything.
Whole game has 60 seconds and you have to keep the place as clean as possible.
SW requirements:
If running on Windows the exe file is provided.
To run on MacOs or Linux you have to have a love2d engine which is available for free on the engine's web https://love2d.org/.
About the development:
Originally game was meant to be a part of compo so i made all assets and code by myself. Because this was my first LD, i didn't have the right timemanagement. At the end of day 2 i was so tired that i rather went to sleep and missed the deadline.
Game was entirely coded on iPad in the Codea app. To run the sources on the desktop i used love2d and loveCodea library with a little modifications made by myself to support some functions from Codea app.

For graphics i used www.piskelapp.com, inkscape and paint.net. Unfortunately i am a programmer guy so forgive the bad graphics.
To design a map i used a tiled map editor. Hovewer in the end i had a time for making only one simple level :-)
The game doesn't have any sounds right now.
I will try to update the game in the future to include more maps graphics sounds and features that i wanted to have for a LD version but i guess it was too much for the 48/72 hours.
I enjoyed the whole process and i will be definitily back for more game competitions.
