Thank everyone for your warm feedback! :rabbit2:
It really feels amazing for us to have our lil quirky jam game get such a nice welcome and we do have a lil surprise for you all
We've continued working on Bunburrow for the past month and are proud to announce we're turning Pâquerette Down the Bunburrows (note the "s"!) into a full game releasing soonish!

You can also follow our fresh Twitter account for updates!
==THE GAME==
Help Pâquerette capture the buns as she goes deeper and deeper down the bunburrow in this short and sweet puzzle game! :rabbit2:
Get outsmarted by bunnies as they won't let you corner them so easily! :exclamation:
Finished the game and want more?
Capturing the buns was key but were you able to find baby bunnies?
~~There may be some secret meta mechanics at play~~ but shhh don't tell anyone! :smirk:

It took me a second to see how it fit with the theme, until I realized you're traveling deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. I'd honesty call attention to that in your description so players make the connection!
Great submission.
Great game! one of the best this jam.

My only (minor) complaint was that movement would sometimes feel a little bit laggy when the bunny moved multiple spaces at once. Once I realized that I was just waiting for the bunny to stop moving before I could move again, it made sense, but it still broke up my flow just a bit.
I managed to get ten bunnies deep before getting stumped by this puzzle, but I had a lot of fun catching bunnies! I also loved the art style you have going on - Everything felt very polished and intentional!

I would have liked a bit more explanations about the traps though. They do not seem to behave exactly as the walls (for example a rabbit will not go into a long path which ends with a trap, which let me stuck for a while in a level at the middle of the game).
@jordan-ottesen *"I’d honesty call attention to that in your description so players make the connection!"* nice catch! I improved the bio in that regard! thank you!
@koolruz thanks! yup I initially let the player move around freely while the bunnies flee, it indeed felt better but in the case where Paquerette surprised a bunny around a corner (1 tile away), it'd force the bunny to do some teleporting away in order to catch up with her next moves. I might revisit/fix this if we end up coming back to this silly game someday! 🐇
@loig yeah there are indeed some corner cases specific for traps (for example, if a trap is around a corner, the bunny won't be able to see it and treat the corner as a regular one!). We should def add some more intermediate levels if/when we come back to this game! 🐇
Very Sokoban-esque
(Very minor bug I noticed, the music glitches out when the game looses focus)

Never seen a game explain its AI pathfinding before, let alone one all about exploiting it. As a bit of a CS geek that's actually pretty cool c:
Congratulations to all involved.
P.S .: I would like to know what FMOD was used for?
@euler-moises FMOD was used mostly because it is very convinient to do mixing (changing volumes, making some EQing, add some compressors...) while playing the game in Unity.
Also the background music volume is compressed by a sidechain from soundfx. So you can more easily ditinguish what are soundfx and noises from the music :)
@lenophie is correct for the first half but soundfx are not sync with music, it is just made in a way that every note are "in tune" with the music (I paid attention that the notes of the soundfx are always somewhat in the scale used in the music ^^)
One way to improve should be to give so hint (how, I don't know 😅) to the player :)
Good job again!
Nice little game :)
Music was great, graphics were good. I liked the colour changes and music changes as you got deeper.
Puzzles were good, I only missed one rabbit by accident.
Feel like the kind of puzzle game that a move counter would be in. Pass a level for 1 star, under X moves for 3 stars kind of thing.
Well done!
If I have one complaint, it's lack of fullscreen or at least resolution adjustment. The game was so tiny on my 2560x1440 and even tinier on a widescreen. It takes away a lot from the enjoyment.
I would also like the ability/option to sort of block the rabbi hole before you catch rabbits on a level. I once went into a next level hole by accident before catching a rabbit and then had to restart the game cause I just could not live with the fact of leaving a bun in my wake uncaught
Overall, it's a very nice and polished game. Great work!

the colors really blend well with the game .. Thanks for making this..
Sad that I managed to skip two levels by going into holes by mistake
Great job to all of you :D
Accidental skipping of levels is definitely one of the hottest issues of this entry, def will fix that~~
@baconn00 here's a hint: you obviously need two bunnies in a level to make a baby one, so try to think about how you could get more bunnies in subsequent levels :3 (you can get 3 babies total but third one is a lil exploit)
This game is just so adorable. ^_^
Thank you for making it! :)

This game was endlessly charming, from the art to the music to the premise itself. I'm a sucker for simple to learn but hard to master puzzle games like this. It's not easy to design puzzles that are both easy to parse but challenging to figure out, but I'd say you nailed it here. I might just have to come back to this one for some baby bunnies!
I was focused on solving the puzzles and didn't have a lot of suggestions for further development/polish while playing through, other than the music tracks having slightly different levels of volume. The discoverable baby element (and freedom to hop through holes without solving a level) make it more fun for replay, so those are good without being communicated up front.
I did realize I was lacking a clear indication of how far into the game I was. One high-effort fix (would not have been the answer during the jam): maybe a steady gradient of a different color each level would help that, with a definite fade to darker colors as we get deeper. So that when you're about as dark as feels in theme with the game you know you're close to the end. You may have kind of done that already with a move to cooler colors; I noticed the damper feel to the green levels' details. But with only three steps and the darkest color (purple) in the middle, it struck me more as just a change for variety than a progression. (A gradient would also of course make the elevator ride back up *extra* pretty.)
this gmae is perfect I think I can give any advice but one : I am a smart man I dont need so many dialog box to tell me how to catch the rabbit :smirk:
I just went through it a second time because I was only able to find 1 babby bunny, but I just had an idea about how to get so I gonna give it a 3rd try later haha >:)

I'm interested to know, did I get all of 'em? 🐰💕
Thank you for playing!
If you want to get even more bunnies, we are turning it into a full game, you can wishlist it on steam now :)

I saw you're going for a Steam release, best of luck! Never before have I had so much fun getting outsmarted by bunny NPCs, it's definitely worthy of a post-jam Steam version.
