Deep Survivors Guilt by Krebzor

[raw]
made by Krebzor for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

This game came to my wife and me as a challenge to test ourselves and expand our boundaries a bit. We wanted to find new aspects of gaming and some new art concepts we have been thinking about lately. We had some spare time so we decided to compete and be part of the Ludum Dare 48. We assisted before on Ludum Dare 46, but then we were much less experienced. The game itself is a combination of gravity physics we calculated and rigged ourselves with some nice assets me and my friends made in some hourse.

Love the art style! The planet physics doesn't feel quite right, but is easy to get used to. My favorite part was the ending, where the space dog was being fed dehydrated broccoli. that sound... not very delicious. :)

The rate at which the difficulty increased and different aspects were shown was great.

The music was a little loud for a game about the desolation and loneliness of space.

Overall, I loved it!

Fun little physics game. I really liked the design of the tentacled aliens.

Those monsters are really spoky!

Physics system are interesting and innovative, but I'd like to have a minimap when I was flying too fast that could float (nearly) forever :P

Good work!

Really liked the game overall! I like the concept and the execution of the narrative, it felt really intersting, and the game is really thematically fitting. The planet gravity thing was kinda fun, felt like it was quaint little low gravity playground, although abit more deliberate and visual control would do wonders, like thhe ability to boost in a direction was not really clear visually, and refuelling fuel was hard as it required u constantly be connected to the planet, instead of simply just not be moving. Lastly I felt the ending of the game was really cute and rewarding!!

It was nice seeing a game on here with some story. The planet collisions are a bit wacky, but the gravity system was quite cool. Well done :)

Loved the physics on that game, taking speed while spinning around a planet was really an interesting concept. The graphic are nicely done but the music was a bit loud. I had to restart some games cause i was stuck between a rock and a planet but overall it was a good game.

This is the best game ive found in this ludum so far, i loved the mood, the sounds, the art. The physics are well made but the jump is weird, i almost closed the game because i thought it was bugged and couldnt be played. I loved the ending. Great job

The space flowers looked nice, although not in the style of the rest of the game.

What do you mean when you say "gravity physics we calculated and rigged ourselves"? Kinda curious lol
Congrats anyways, the art is AWESOME and the gameplay is super FUN!

@alexandre-pedroza Hey thanks! and we didnt simply not used any inbuild physics but we created all from scratch for fun xD

Art is great. I love how the planets had their own gravitational pull. I was surprised by Anna at the end. lol Well done and thanks for sharing! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1003785681?t=0h34m41s

Interesting project with a neat aesthetic. I came here because of CCCP logo and orange spacesuit which remind me **Polysic** band from Japan. The game itself is not bad or good - it is a weird experience in space playing with physics. What you did is clean. You can be proud of you. Well done ++

Nice project.
The art if nice, i wanted to see it more closely but I figured it won't be easy to navigate with too much zoom.
The controls are a bit clunky.

I love the plot twist at the end (about Anna).
Good work

Who could have predicted the twist! The game reminded me of Gravity Ghost, and the mechanics were good. I think the limited fuel was a little frustrating; it limited one's desire to explore. Maybe having it restore more on each planet would have helped? Fantastic art!

The game works very well, I was never too lost and I was intrigued right from the start.
I liked the physics system with the gravity of the planets pulling the player and having to measure out your fuel.
The aesthetics were really nice, especially the title screen and animations. Extending that same style and polish to the UI elements would have really pushed the game's graphics even further.

Finaly. Anna. Liked that twist ;D
Nice and short game as every jam game should be - easy to go through every feature and levels.

Really good experience. Art and music are really good, the story bits after every level are engaging. The momentum and gravity systems are both really fun to play around with and make for an interesting challenge. Great game overall.

Cool entry! It was enjoyable to play, but I did have a few remark: I didn't understand when the fuel would refuel. Is it when standing still on a planet, and is this intentional? Also the gravitational physics felt a bit too far off, even the biggest planets had very little pull and started pulling at a very limited range. I would've loved to perform some slingshots but the current system didn't really allow for that. I did like your game nonetheless, my remarks are kinda nitpicking for a gamejam game of course! Congratulations on making this LD48 submission!
