Dr. Brenner has disappeared under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind a strange device that can extract memories from objects. You're the detective that's trying to piece together what happened to him. Explore the Dr.'s lab and dig deeper and deeper into his memories to figure out what happened to him in this 3D puzzle/escape room game.

Created in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 48! This was my first time participating in Ludum Dare, and I had a lot of fun (in between the nervous breakdowns)! Hope you guys like, be sure to leave comments letting me know what you think! :)

IMPORTANT!! If you're playing the web version, once you get in the lab, hit the escape key, center your cursor on the dot in the middle, and then click. This will enable you to pick up objects correctly, as itch doesn't seem to lock your cursor in the middle

Nice job! I like the graphics :)
(PS, the download on itch is missing the other files to run the game! The web version mostly works, but at first I had some trouble picking up items, a refresh helped)

The concept is interesting and the presentation is great, but I'm having trouble reliably picking up objects in the web version so unfortunately I wasn't able to get far enough to rate it.

Very amazing what you were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time - i really like the aesthetic style. Its a little tough to know what to do, i got some stuff done (like reading the laptop) but it was tricky to know what to do.

Really cool idea! I like the twist on escape room style games, and the clues were just the right level of challenging. Also I got a fun bug in webgl that made me really tall so that's a bonus.

@maxr00 Oh my gosh, thank you so much for telling me! I totally thought you just needed the exe, i can't believe its taken me this long to figure it out hsfjhdglks. I just updated the file on itch, you're a lifesaver! And I'm glad you liked it!! :)

@metadept thank you!! Yea, I know what you mean, something about the WebGL player doesn't wanna recognize the mouse at first, but I found that hitting escape and then clicking back into the window helped fix it! You could also try refreshing, but the downloadable version should be working now anyway! :)

@william-corrin thank you so much!! It's amazing what staying up till 4am gets you lol. And thank you for the feedback! I didn't have time to playtest so it was hard to gauge the difficulty of the puzzles :)

@crocodiletuesday thank you so much, glad you liked it!! I'm pretty sure I had that bug in the windows version too actually lol, something with the character controller that I just didn't have time to fix (plus, you're right, its pretty funny akfhskdg) :)

Nice puzzle game, made me take a pen and a paper to write down some info :)
There was good amount of items to scan and clues were good; I felt smart getting something right!

I got stuck at one point. Controls are not ideal on web version, ok on app version.

@boclow thank you so much!! glad you liked the puzzles, it's pretty tough to see them from an outsider's perspective when you're making the game and you know all the answers lol so that's good to hear! :)

@yamzho thank you for the feedback! if you're having trouble picking up items in the web version, try hitting escape, then centering your cursor on the dot in the middle, then clicking, this will lock your cursor in the center so you can pick up items correctly because itch doesn't automatically center the cursor :)

Nice! You managed to create a lot of depth and intrigue in such a short space of time during the jam. Nice work on all the 3D assets too.

I had so much fun playing this game. I've very rarely been this excited playing a puzzle game. Puzzles were very clever and interesting. The background music and art style are really cute and pretty. Great job!

Making an escape room type game where you can't actually escape the room? You're really going to trigger the OCD of escape room enthusiasts :smirk:
Although thanks to @vimlark that's not going to be a problem anymore

The music is an excellent fit for the game: both intriguing and relaxing, which is the best kind of music any kind of detective game can hope for in my opinion.

The visual design is very good and makes the game easy to navigate.

I always thought that this kind of game would take a long time to design... it's incredible that you were able to make it happen in just 48 hours!

Congrats!

Think this is my favourite of the games I've played so far this LD.
Graphics are great, the story and gamplay is intriguing and well-written. Very polished for a ludum dare entry!

@secret-magic-404 hahaha I get that!! It's always really satisfying to actually escape lol, and thank you so much!! Luckily the technical aspect wasn't too complex so I spend could time designing the puzzles, glad you liked it! :)

I can't believe you made a freakin scape room on a game jam!! This is super cool, puzzles are very well thought, there's a lot of divertion to make you think otherwise, elements are very well placed and general gameplay is ver balanced. HTML5 version wasn't working for me, click didn't do anyhitng for some reason, I had to download the windows verison.

The only thing I could "complain" was that maybe when stuff was already deciphered you could make them dissapear or at least go back to their original place, I kept piling stuff on the reading devices and I wasn't sure what was the final objective of what I was doing.

Very well done, I loved it!

Great job, a fun little escape room game, definitely enough content, felt like lots of backstory and things to uncover, well done! Also good simple graphics and nice music. The only question I have is what the Comp PW numbers on the scrumpled up pieces of paper meant, I never found a use for them, were they just a decoy?

Amazing puzzle game, really impressing that you manage to make such game in so little time. Personally I didn't like the deadline sort of thing, I'm more of a slow play person, but that's just my opinion. The soundtrack helps with the mood. Overall, wonderful job!

Really amazing game! I couldn't stop playing till i find out haha.

I had problems with the web version, and took me a while to notice how to pick objects. No problem with the downloadable version though.

The athmosphere, idea, graphics and sound, all makes sense in this game. Great work!

@webox Thank you so much, and thank you for downloading it, I know you were asking for web games haha! The clicking bug has to do with itch not centering the cursor automatically when it gets locked, but now I've uploaded a fixed version! And thanks for the feedback, I wanted you to be able to go back to memories in case you missed something, but it does get very messy lol, I can work on it! :)

Good take on the escape-the-room genre! I definitely didn't get everything right (I was too eager to try the scanner and make wild guesses at first).

It could be my monitors resolution, but I had a lot of trouble reading the sticky notes.

Good job on your first LD entry!

- Wow!
- I really liked it but I couldn't find the hint about the computer and plant
- The periodic table I never used can you answer me why that is needed.

I loved your game so much! The puzzles were clever and I loved to search through the doctor's belongings. I didn't manage to unlock the phone or to get the answer to the bronze, silver and gold equation but I found all the memories so I'm really happy about it!

the music was quite discret but nice, and the graphics were pretty effective. Nice job!
