A Game Where You Are ANY Monster by Saphyre

[raw]
made by Saphyre for LD33 (JAM)
Back to the 70's with this CRPG !
It's almost as if you had a pen and a paper to progress on the storyline.
Plus, you can play with sound ! (All sounds have not yet been implemented, but enough to give you an idea ^_^)

The computer is your Game Master. You are the monster.
Will you manage to complete the adventure without losing your mind ?

Good luck !

PS: The whole game has been done with only one script, attached to a GameObject called Main ('Source' to download it). And sounds are not from me, I used free SFX. Enjoy !

it's just green text, it reads like a book, I was hoping for more game.

Text based adventure game! With sound fx! And you can be an Alien! I like it, a lot!

Sadly it didn't seem to allow me to be "Any" monster.:P But I like the retro aesthetic. Probably the first text adventure I've seen in unity though.

Uh, reminded me of Monster Love You, although maybe with less love. Nicely done, it also looks quite good (i mean, for how much a text adventure can look good)

A bit disappointed I didn't got to play a ratspider

Some seriously messed up content in this one! The text adventure was well done, although some of the choices I was given made me uneasy. I still chose them though, so well done. :)

Despite it not letting me make "...anything" as my class, I had fun with it. I liked the writing style, and trying to kill the doppelganger with silver invoked quite an amusing response.

Thanks for the first feedback, guys. I'll add Ratspider in the next version. Don't hesitate to tell me about monsters I should add. I'd like to make the next episode more specific about the monster you chose.

I really enjoy text adventures and quite liked this one. The sound effects added quite a lot. I wish there was a bit more choice in the latter part of the game but overall really well done.

Interesting, but it would be cool if there was a difference between each monster. It's a lot of work, but it would be REALLY cool. Apart from that, it's still interesting, and I like the style you have going here.
Well done!

Neat entry!
I wasn't hoping for a text-adventure. I liked it!
How did you handle so many texts with Unity? I always get stuck!

I programmed my own tool. It's the only file in the zip I made. You can download it on 'Source'.

I like text-based games and your game is a good one. The sounds and music was great and so was the text. I'd love to see it continued with a more serious-darker theme. Oh, and plus points for the stat screen. :)

A bit short, but a unique experience in terms of narrative from the mind of a monster. It fit very well with the theme.

Points for mood, but this game got dark fast. Also didn't pay off the idea of any monster, but that's understandable with the limits on time.

Thanks again for the feedbacks, it helps a lot knowing what I should add in the future. And don't forget you need to use a capital when you type the name of your kind. Ex : Vampire, Troll, Ghost, etc. Cheers !

Interesting idea. The writing was kind of all over the place. I didn't really know what my goal was, but I was still compelled to keep playing. Nice work with the text.

Fun idea, wouldn't recognise any of the monsters I tried to be, had to be an alien.

Don't forget to use capital letters when you choose your kind of monster. And sorry I didn't let you vote for the sound, but I didn't make the SFX...
