I myself handled the art and programming, Shelvid and I together handled game design and my mum wrote the music track! :D

I couldn't particularly think of anything for the theme "Deeper and Deeper" aside from literally just a deep space shooter, so here you go!

Nice game ! I liked the visuals (although the rgb split effect is too strong making enemies looks like there is two of them), but I found the game a little bit too hard.

Awesome! Love the visuals, although they do make it a bit hard to see what's going on sometimes, especially with the blue enemies.

The view range & speed of enemies & bullets made the game a bit hard - if I moved around i'd often fly into a bullet before I've even seen it, and if I stayed still I'd get hit by them!

Eventually worked out I could hide up next to the wall / corner for a bit of an advantage, but I still died very quickly! Difficulty settings would've been nice on this one!

Art style & audio & gameplay all fit together really well though, and the game feels good to play, I just die to quickly!

Fun game! It's a little hard to see what's happening due to the visual effects. I really like the idea of the bullet time and warp mechanics, though I felt like every time I tried to warp out of the way of something, I ended up dying anyway. It might help if you became invulnerable for a very short time after you warp? Or maybe warping through enemies or bullets could damage/kill them? Regardless, nice work!

Got a score of 304. I think the graphics are really nice, and the soundtrack complements the gameplay really well. The game doesn't really incorporate the theme *too* much, but that's fine. I do think that the gameplay can be quite difficult, an improvement might be to increase the FOV of the player or the map so you can see more enemies.

Everything about this game is so good I don't know where to start. I suppose I'll begin with the first thing that blew me away: The aesthetic. The RGB split effect combined with the cat's eye view really makes _arcuswarp come alive. It makes you feel like you're playing it on an actual arcade machine and combined with the gameplay it offers, trust me, if this was an arcade game in the 90s, I'd be saving every quarter for it. The simple yet expressive gameplay feels like if Asteroids and Space invaders had a baby and boy is it majestic. Lastly, the music, perfectly attuned to the hectic yet immersive shooting, is the icing on this cake. The 30 minutes I've spent playing this game have made my day.

10/10 would arcuswarp again.

-Sincerely, a 614-point-holder.

@valden, @darkfrost and @goggleskitty - thanks for your reviews! The RGB split effect only affects one enemy on the edges, and was intentionally kept like that - I feel like it makes the players panic just a bit more. The difficulty being high was intentional, a sort of throwback to the arcade era of punishing score-based games where you lose quickly, if you may.
Also, I'm glad you discovered some strategies! Most of the people I showed the game to came up with cool techniques for it, which I found very sweet.

@elmos-minion When I tried doing that - the game felt too distant and agoraphobic to me. I like it the way it is because it encourages looking at the minimap more.
P.S - I can't really increase the minimap FOV, because it's already looking at the entire level :D

Pretty nice game! While it is difficult and I'd even say a bit unfair, the graphics, the sfx and the overall gameplay make up for it. Great work! I'd recommend however adding a little invulnerability after the warp. (Based on the JAM version)

Wow! Pretty hardcore one!
Visuals are a bit glitchy (or maybe I should've had more sleep :D), music is great!
I really liked the dynamics and mood
