Cave In by FireFart
A small mishap happened to an unlucky farmer. What should he do?
This is my 2nd game jam participation and my first Ludum Dare, so the quality may be somewhat subpar, but nevertheless i hope you enjoy this short experience. I focused too much on animation instead of actual game content lol. All critics and advices are welcome :)

- You could use a white font color in the UI with an outline, it could be more neat.
- The core mechanic has a great potential, it can be more explored!
- The music is retro and have a good feeling, but the loop is too short, you can make more variations!
I know the game is buggy and youre seems to be a begginer, but i like to see things the way they can be, remember they always can be better!
Otherwise the animations are very nice, it was very pleasant to watch! :3
Thank you and congratulations for this game !
That said, i would like to point some things that i think could help you, like:
- you could explore more of that mechanic. It's a great ideia, and kinds of remember some other games - but have a unique touch. That's great!
- It is really too short. You can scalate the game by adding some levels, some skills and a nice inventory. That could give a lot of weigth to your project.
- As the game itself, the music loop is nice - but too short. That makes the music a little repetitive - with just a few more seconds, and it will get really cool.
That said, it's a really cool and fun game, has a lot of potencial and i hope you continue on working at this project. Wish you the best!
As a musician I feel inclined to critique it a little, however, or I will have an unscratched itch permanently. The music loop you used is a wonderful start, and far better than many things I have heard in previous game jam games. Unfortunately, the more I played, the more annoying it got. I believe the reason for this is that it is both short and not looped perfectly. It takes the player out of the experience a little every time they are able to hear the music restart without the level restarting. It no longer matches what they are viewing, so they distance the visuals a little from the music. A simple fix to this would be to first lengthen the loop, adding a little variety (even a tiny amount helps a lot!), then making the loop more seamless.
Overall a very nice game! I hope to see more from you in the future.
