Nessie the Monster by jrserjeant

Hello All,

Well this was a tough Ludum Dare for me. At times it felt like anythingI tried to implement just didn't work out. I spent most of Saturday trying to debug some mouse controls I wanted only to scrap them in the end.

The game is an incomplete state and has some of my debug UI left in. Never the less I will explain the game idea below.

You play as the Loch Ness Monster. The goal is to get behind the boats using AWSD and use left mouse click to bash the boats making the scared and speed off. The idea being that as the Loch Ness Monster you are annoyed at all the tourists trying to find you.

Currently the left mouse click also makes you submerge. This was going to be part of a feature where people on the boat try to take pictures and you have to submerge to hide. The end game state would have been if too many photo's are taken a Science Research boat came to capture you.

I'm a bit down that I haven't achieved as much as I would have liked to but as with last year I have leant a lot that I will put to good use next time.

I use LibGdx/Java with Android Studio on Windows 10. I will try to upload a web version and one with Java packaged.

Once again I think my lovely girlfriend Emily for her hungover MSPaint artwork :).

Yay for more Nessie games!
This one is a bit unfinished, but I like the idea.

Looks like a good start, just needs some polish. It is pretty rewarding to scare off those boats!

Nice idea! I would say the same things that the others have alredy commented.

Some sound could give a better feedback to the player. Put some more visual but simple effects could work too! Like change the color of the boats when it gets caught. Overall, nice work!
