Through the Anthill by nessie

Be an ant in the underground of the anthill that needs to find the scattered leaves and take them to the storage places. Look for the best way to cross or dig the blocks of land ahead. Pay attention because digging will tire you out and to recharge your energy you must eat the sweet beans that you find.

I have recently started programming and developing games and this is my first attempt at jamming. Feel free to leave any comments and thanks in advance for playing it.

Good job! Really simple but well executed idea! Finding other ants to save with the leaves was a good touch!

This is really cool! I love that you have the ability to break walls and pay energy to walk through them. That's a really clever decision I've not seen before! I also appreciate that minimap a lot, it would've been tough without it. I noticed one time though that I was able to give multiple leaves to a particular dropzone, it didn't seem like that was intended. Really cool!

Wow that was really cool! Loved how well done everything was, the ants looked realistic! And seeing the top of the anthill was great!

The game has some bugs and the music stops playing after awhile, but overall I like the experience. I felt a bit of adventures as I was playing for the ant. I wish I had some sense of progression, it could be a number of ants to save. (The score point is good, but it is not enough for me.) The world you've built in this game feels consistent and pleasant, I think it is the strongest point of the game.

Wow! I really liked it! The game has an old school "nature educational PC game" vibe to it, in a very good way. I would like to see more of it. If you plan to continue working on this project, I would be very interested in following its development!

Thanks everyone!

@dmitry-mozgin Hi, i really appreciate your feedback. Some things always go unnoticed, especially after so many tests hashashashs. Anyway, I had already thought about some implements, even similar to what you suggested. So thanks, now I just have to keep working on it.

@secret-magic-404 Hey! Yes, I will definitely continue with this project. I'm having fun with it and I already have several other ideas too. When I have more time I will add them, because you know, life and such. But if you want, follow one of the links here on the page to keep up with new updates. I just reposted an update so go check it out!

Gameplay loop is simple, yet fun! I liked the zoomed-out camera view in the corner, and the beans reminded me of Bertie Bott's Every-Flavored Beans

I enjoy being an ant in games. Nice, pleasant little experience. It wasn't immediately visually clear what I was supposed to do, until the txt told me. Music is pleasant, but might fit better with an action game instead of the chill experience of this ant. Overall, its a nice little world and I love the idea..

Was the goal to collect all leaves? The map was a really nice touch!

well, its a funny and unique game: liked the graphics, sound effect and music, and the mini map on the top, very good to see more map! just few things for you for the future:
- tutorial explaining what the player have to do
- which food its good and bad for you
- put on HUD how many leaves in each map

I quite enjoyed this. The graphics of the little ant look stunning and the art for everything else look really great as well. I also really enjoyed the sound and the music theme was really well put together. I really liked the way the ant moved as well as the mini map at the top, it was a nice touch that helped a ton. I do feel maybe adding a counter to show how many leaves remaining and a better explanation on what food is good and what food is bad, not sure if the learn by doing is the best choice for new players. Other than that this was a really well put together game!. Good work on your first entry and first game!

The return of Sim Ant!!! I agree about giving tips on what to eat and what not to eat so we know what to go towards and avoid. There were some lines that went through the graphics from time to time while walking around.
Otherwise I really loved this idea

Congratulations on finishing your first game jam! And you made a complete game!

I agree with the others that some kind of introduction to the different gameplay elements would have been nice. May the first level should be really easy and quick to finish and introduce the leaves mechanic. The second level could have damaging tiles in it, but also the healing beans. The third level could introduce the bad beans. For example.

But I really liked the graphics and 3d models (except maybe for the texts, which were a bit pixelated)! And the mini map was a very helpful addition.

Cool game! I had a bit of trouble finding the drop-off points, but I really liked the music and art. Nice job, especially for your first time!
