I found the recharge system made it a bit difficult as it left you vulnerable and took too long compared to the speed and number of enemies coming at you. The game mechanic of not being able to see anything was clever though. Nice work!
I like the controls and camera a lot, they flow well.
Graphics are all good.
Gameplay I find a bit weird, and it's a very difficult game. There are a lot of enemies and they come at you very quickly.
On the whole, a great entry. Well done!
Yeah, originally you had to hold down the mouse right button to close your eye. I changed it to space because of the Web version (right mouse button shows a menu pop-up). I did test with holding down space, but in the end I thought that just toggling was better.
Perhaps I should increase the recharge rate a little bit for it to become less challenging?
I used Bfxr for all sound effects.
Just uploaded an update that adds that line of text. That should take care of that difficulty issue.
The recharge mechanic was really neat! Having to choose when to recharge in order to avoid the red wisps made the decision dangerous, but rewarding. The alternative recharge mechanic, the mana drops, complimented it really nicely.
I also found that the difficulty scaled quite nicely with the score.
I liked a lot the mechanic and the explosion effect!
Great job!
I did figure out how to move without the instructions, but I should note that only this time around did I actually figure out that I could hold down the mouse button to fire.
