Atmospheric! The spooky vibe is not the only factor in this game that will raise your heart rate and arterial tension, as you will inevitably rack your brain to figure out if Nyctofobia is a legitimate way to spell the name of the concept of fear of the dark.

I can't confidently rate the technical merits of the lighting system, but someone with experience on the topic might appreciate the implementation of lights and shadows. All I can say is that the lamp you carry and the ones you light do cast real-time shadows that look pretty good to me.

While repelling darkness monsters with a light source is an intuitive and a cool concept, I think it could be hard to turn the smooth real-time movements on a plane into compelling and balanced gameplay with just more time and effort thrown at the project. I don't think it's necessarily a completely hopeless cause, especially as the game might rely more on the merits of the atmosphere and aesthetics, but it might require a lot of revamping to reach the esteemed status of a puzzle classic!

This is freaking cool. Love the mechanics, so atmospheric and intuitive. Love the artwork, and nice job on the music. Amazing!

I didn't get if there was an end to the game, as I couldn't do much other than wandering around the rooms escaping the dark monster. But I enjoyed the experience a lot anyways.

We also used godot for our submission and we have an initial cutscene that shows the protagonist waking up in the bed. So much in common!

Lovely artstyle, fits well with the music and the rest of the game. I wasn't expecting this to be a puzzle game, but the realization that it was one kind of killed the tension for me.

Nonetheless, it's a well thought out game on all fronts, the gameplay may be a bit simplistic, but it does make up for it in other areas, good job!

The mood and atmosphere of this game is great and i love the way the music seems to build the further you go. Its very tense wondering where out of the darkness the terrors are going to come from. I also think the art style with the soft lines lends itself very much to this kind of game.

Very interesting game and enjoyed it, thanks.

Art style is great, i like the hand painted look of everything. The resource management was tough, but fair. The environments were well done and the game was very fun to play. It was difficult in the 'cellar' level to see where any of the enemies were so that was kinda a trial and error run. I liked the music on the final level. Great job, Thanks for the game!

Very atmospheric game. Very deep too. It certainly conveys a message and I like that fact. The music fits perfectly!

This is absolutely awesome! The levels feel like puzzles, play like a horror game, and progress like a story! I thoroughly enjoyed playing through all of them.

Also, this absolutely needs to be played with headphones! The atmosphere is just amazing and brilliantly captures the childish feeling I still feel when walking through a dark room -- oddly relatable

I liked the mood a lot, the visual and audio help a lot to give a great experience. It took me a while to understand I had to turn all the lights on to make the monsters disappear. The level where you have to brighten your light felt impossible at first, but all you have to do is to find the correct order to do the things. It was a bit frustrating but I finally managed it. It felt pretty well done, so great work everyone!

I like the consistency of the atmosphere you created in the game. The art, the music, the lights - all really band together to create a cohesive, atmospheric experience. Really nicely done!

If I have one complaint, it's that it was too short. More levels please :). Oh, and it was a bit strange that the terrors were actually scared of the intensified light through the door.

Atmosphere was on point! Music got a little repetitive but the visuals were really moody. I enjoyed the light mechanic though I had to visit the ldjam page to find out how to clear a level (light all the lamps) - so that could probably be better explained in game :)

One of the few games where i played it through and enjoyed from start to end without any frustration or anything. The mood is set, the story adds to it and the darkness is ready. Beautiful hand drawn art which fits the theme and goes well together with all the sprites. I hope that this game will get more content in the future as for a game jam this was too short to fully explore the story.

So critical feedback: Maybe some different enemies will make it more interesting. Maybe bigger ones that move slower for example. Other thing that was slightly unclear was that the sprite at the top was for the timer as it doesn't have any recognisable shape.

Overall good and enjoyable!

What an absolute gem, everything in it is just the perfect amount of eerie to make an incredible atmospheric game, and the mechanic is very unique, very special, a very lovely take on an top down puzzle platformer, loved the art, the sound, the gameplay, the idea, if this was longer it's 100% the kind of game i'd buy, incredible work!

This is really great! I absolutely love the artwork and music. The hand drawn style of the art is almost a comfort in the dark atmosphere. The music is eerie and ethereal. They combine to create a truly strange and somewhat unsettling game.

The gameplay is simple yet fun and I think it's interesting that it's essentially a puzzle game. I definitely would like to see more enemies or behavior of some kind. I also think it would have been nice to be able to walk around after turning on all the lights. The home was a nice place that I wanted to just take in, but I had to rush because of dwindling fuel. It would be neat to piece together even more of the story by interacting with the world during some kind of downtime.

I really enjoyed it. Great work on it!

Very solid game. Very atmospheric. It was pretty easy though, except one level, the barrel one.

That was awesome! Music and art were so good! Gameplay was also very smooth. Just wish there was more to the ending! Other than that 10/10.

Ooh, this was a great one. The great visuals and audio formed to create the perfect mood for a game like this. I'd have preferred the music to be a little quieter compared to the effects, but that's clearly a matter of taste. The other minor gripe I had was that it took a bit of squinting to see if I had actually turned the light on in some places. Also, it would've been nice if the bed somehow indicated that I was done with the level. Overall, really good job and one of my favorites so far!

A mat is one of the key necessities of the family unit use. Advancement is there to give staggering and cleaned covers at all exorbitant costs as could be allowed. I often click here https://essayreviewuniverce.com/cheapestessay-review/ as well to avail best writing services online. It is a consequence of the progression that the issue of floor covering cleaning took care of now.
