Nice Exploration Game!!

At first it seemed really peaceful, wasn't sure if the game had an objective, then I felt blocked and almost gave up. But found out the game is a Metroidvania of sorts. I won!

I could see the concept expanded to have many more powerups and places to go.

Really Cool :fish:

Cool game! I really liked the visuals. It would be helpful to have some static background with a texture, so that when you are in open water you can get a sense of where you are going. It is confusing when all you see is blue. Well done!

Really cool and relaxing game! By adding more powerups, a bigger map, a background texture, new enemies, etc, this could be an even better game!

Nice underwater exploration chill game. I agree with guys here that if you add even bigger map it will be Perfect. Good job!

Loved the music you made for it, nice and chill. The gameplay gave me some Ecco the Dolphin vibes.

GTA in the underwater world :D I won! That was unexpected! Increadible amount of work in such a short period of time. Great job!

unity didn't work in brave, but when i used chrome it started just ok. The game itself has tons of nice animated sprites, and music is pretty neat. collision detection works and the colours are nice. So pretty good feeling after playing the game.

Cool little game :). I'd maybe go for slightly smaller enviromnetns and/or map and/or a bit faster ascend (going to places was a bit tedious sometimes). Otherwise really neat :).

Nice and relaxing, the music adds a lot and the visuals and color work really well. I do wish there was a bit more to explore and find. Swimming around eating smaller things and watching out for bigger things reminded me of e.v.o search for eden.

Nice minimalistic gfx, annoying relax music. (Music can be turned off at least, that's a plus.) I liked the old sharks - slow and only 2 teeth. Not much AI. Needs instructions though! Using dash is unclear. Also fish should hover by nature.

This is just a solid little game. Everything is good and cohesive. The music is really good. I like that you play a sound effect while the sharks are aggroing you. Lots of little touches like that make this feel complete. Very nice!

Solid game, really nice and chill to play. Enjoyable, tho the ending could have more flashy effects :D

Really liked the music. The danger sound effect when enemies are near is a nice touch. A little indicator for when your dash is recharged would be cool.

Very nice game! I've really enjoyed playing it for a while! Very cute, simple graphics and mechanics. Very nice melody in the background. The only think I would consider to add is: some checkpoints. When you're quite far in the game and you'll die, you need to start over from the very beginning... That's little bit demotivating:) Besides this, great work!

Cool game! Nice and enjoyable to play, really relaxing even if one was swimming away from sharks.

Apart from what everybody already said (I haven't read all the comments so maybe theu already said these things also) It would have been nice if you could hide from the sharks if you swam into sea-weed. And perhaps a mini-map.

Congrats on making a fun game! It was an enjoyable experience.

Enjoyed the exploration factor, the mood of the game is very relaxing. The thing I would suggest would be to add animations for going up and down, felt a little bit weird to see the fish static. And would also change the tilemap for a more fitting one, since that one is sand beach but underwater and I didn't quite understand the choice hahaha but I get the time to do such details is always an issue. Good job!

Very nice entry! It had some pretty good ideas!

It must be said, that your game was quite intuitive. I was given important information that I needed (shopping from the clownfish and explaining dash), and everything else I could figure out for myself. I never needed to back out of the game and find the controls or rules hiding in the game description. Very good job there!

The music sets the mood, and doesn't get to crazy or repetitive.

I like how everything looks, very colorful, cute and full of life. The sharks chomp-y teeth sound is cute/funny.

Swimming feels good, but I'm not sure it needs gravity. The player fish should probably just stay animated all the time, but speed up the animation if the player is moving.

Explore using the particle system, it's a very powerful tool for how easy it is to use (once you learn how). Some particles would take this to the next level! You could have bubbles, that rock wall can explode into bits, etc!

Particles could also help show the player movement, especially in those spaces where there's nothing around and it's hard to tell if you're even going anywhere. Some kind of background could also help with that.

I like the way the little fish run(swim) away from you. At first I thought they were just a background thing, there to complete the atmosphere, but it turns out we can eat them and trade them for abilities. So that was cool.

It's a very playable game with simple and achievable goal, which is all good for a jam game!

Good work!

Nice game! I liked the ambience your music created! The controls and movement (particularly how you sink at a constant rate) made it feel like I really was a fish underwater. It was enjoyable to play. However, I suggest you check if the movement is normalised (i.e. whether you cover a greater distance moving diagonally rather than straight). It's not that this is a problem, I just felt like I sped up when I moved diagonally which you may not have intended. I feel that some bubbles and some extra decorations would be great to go against the blue water background (because sometimes it was hard to tell if you were moving). Also, some more instructions would be helpful. But overall, I think this is a good jam game with nice graphics and a peaceful soundtrack all in a peaceful location. The game was concise, simple, and inviting. Great job!

Really cute game- I liked the pixel art a lot. Like others have already mentioned, checkpoints of sorts would make things more accessible without really taking away from the experience. Something you did really well was have just the right pacing and amount of variety in the collectible fish, story-related fish (clownfish), progression events (getting the dash to break the wall), etc. to immerse the player. While there actually wasn't a whole lot to do, I never thought it was getting boring, and kept exploring for the next objective. I ended up getting unreasonably hyped to see what was behind that eel, and ended up really disappointed that it abruptly ended there! Would love to see more of this game post-LD. :D
