You've got the bones of a really satisfying movement system here, would love to see it fleshed out in a destruction based platformer of some kind.

This game feels pretty satisfying! I reached 1600 feet, but then the game started to glitch :(
Anyway, good job

A fun little game, maybe in a fleshed out version there could be something to find along the way to give some purpose to smashing through.

Cool game. The gameplay is maybe just a little simplistic, it seems like there's no way to fail? But the visual style is awesome are the sound effects go great with it. I don't know if it's supposed to glitch out when I'm smashing but it did that quite a lot. It seemed the camera would just disappear off somewhere else. Great stuff, though, well done!

The sounds get really glitchy at times, but it adds to the fun

Things I liked:
- really satisfying mechanics
- good music for the theme of the game
- nice visuals

Improvements:
- Make a simple upgrade loop where the bricks get hard and hard to smash as to you go and smash time is limited by some form a fuel source; smashed bricks generate currency that is spent on upgrades that allow you to go deeper. There's a foundation of something really fun here.

Bugs:
- Within a few seconds of play; the bricks and player went away and all I had was the background but I could continue to smash bricks

@smooches Thanks for playing! I'd definitely like to expand this to something fully developed!

@hilkojj Haha that's the unfortunate limit of the game on the web player.

@lakea I had some aspirations for that for the jam, but as time was running out I made the choice to just focus on making sure the mechanics were satisfying. Thank you for the feedback!

@kieron-woodhouse No failure at this point, but hopefully 30-60s of satisfying brick destruction to relieve the stress from the last 48 hrs ;). Thanks for pointing out the glitches you experienced though! I need to refine the collision detection some more next

@lesaintbiscuit Haha glad that it enhanced it for you! That is an export limitation with Godot when you play on the webplayer. The new release added threaded audio support, but at the cost of not working in a lot of browsers. But hopefully it will be fixed in the future!

@bw-devel Thanks for playing and for the detailed feedback! I would definitely like to expand this and I love your idea! There could be coin bricks that you have to steer your path towards to pick up, then maybe fly back to surface to upgrade your digging strength. And hmm, I will definitely need to look into that glitch.. That definitely shouldn't happen!

Great brick smashing simulator! I agree on the potential for a complete game, and its glitchiness after a few seconds of digging (maybe turn the glitch into a losing condition, like you need to cool down?)

Love the glitchy jank aesthetic. :D If only there was more gameplay.

Good game! But I think you should add more gameplay.

I really like the mechanics, and how powerfull the player is, but I wish you could do something, besides digging deeper by continuously pressing 1 button.

I really like how this looks and I think you could take that smashing mechanic and add some cool combat or collection stuff on top of it. As you know there's not much here, but it looks and feels great (until the framerate starts going bonkers anyway haha). Nice job.

I enjoy the simplicity holding down the down arrow key and seeing the screen shake go wild

I had almost the same idea at first! A was thinking about busting down through layers of something with synced music, but went another diection later. Super enjoyable, even low perfomance and stutters on big depths feel like punching the fabric of the universe. Awesome

insane effects, well done. It just shows how simple core gameplay can be really fun with some cool camera shakes and particle effects well put together lol

Really satisfying, visually and general feel! With some proper gameplay added I can see this turning into some kind of mobile game.

flying up to the top and then smashing down hard was great, with a huge crater and screen shake! would be good to add a bit more gameplay/decision-making on top but it's a solid foundation that's already fun to play. Nice work

Music is very repetative, needs a few more loops, it also abruptly restarts, the balance of SFX to music is off too, need to drop the sfx a little but cool physica and fun just ploughing through the bricks. Would love some gamplay on this. Also could vary up the sprits for the blocks etc but really cool!

I can't say that wasn't satisfying. Sometimes all you need is to super fly and smash bricks.

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had some fun with it!

@ariorick Hahah, awesome. I am totally saving your quote to put on the back of the box lol.

Thanks for the feedback, and I hope to definitely expand into a full game one day! I'll keep all your suggestions in mind when I expand the concept and also rework the code.

@astronautmikedexter

Sorry that you had some technical issues! I noticed there were a few bugs I did not catch, and a few issues with exporting to web from Godot that I am still learning to deal with as I learn more about Godot and HTML5. Hopefully my future games or updates can avoid some of these issues. Thanks for playing and for leaving some feedback! :)

There's something mesmerizing about your game loop, that just keeps you wanting to go further and further. Even tho the game lacks some mechanics to make it a bit more "deep", pun intended, the main mechanic is super satisfying and it seems really polished. As some other stated, you shoud probable add some more stuff to the main loop, maybe don't make it infinite but make it so you have to improve your character to go deepepr and deeper, and also add some variation on the blocks as you get deeper.

Overall Great job!! Congrats on finishing! :D

It's a simple idea but it's very satisfying to go down into the depths. The feeling is great. Congrats, very cool game :)!

Really satisfying, although the game starts running really weird after a while. The visuals have a real impact to them!

Destroying the tiles feels really nice, even though my pc is too slow to really appreciate it. Would have been nice if the windup also had some sound, but it is a satisfying movement mechanic nonetheless.

Destroy blocks. Destroy all the blocks! The idea has potential. But I missed a core gameplay of challenge. And I had sometimes problem with the performance when playing on itch.io. Congratulation to your submission!
