Dark Inside by haivron

[raw]
made by haivron for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

Our first Ludum Dare entry -which is also our first completed game! Lessons have been learned about time management and prioritization. Altogether; it was a very challenging but absolutely fun ride for both of us. Looking forward for next ones!

A short adventure game about searching for our friend while exploring deep web. Be careful there are viruses and many dangers dwells nearby.

Fullscreen is recommended for proper alignment of some poorly designed items.

From one first-timer to another I think you absolutely killed it :). Fantastic graphics and atmosphere. The middle levels felt a little bit slow and I would have liked to see the double-jump come into play in an interesting way. Story was simple but effective and the opening scene on the desktop was charming. Looking forward to your future games.

Really cool! I love the art, it's really stylish. I'd love to see this more fully formed, there are some great ideas in here. Awesome work!

Fantastic work! The art was great and the large skull-virus enemy was my favorite.

I guess I reached the end? Went off with her, then the screen turned grey, would've been nice if there was something on the desktop again, at the ending, but maybe it is too deep to ever get out.
It really fit the title, gameplay also was nice, using blocking instead of attacking but please, please, please, never bin such an important button like "restart the entire game" to any combat related button.

I played the game 5 times because I kept klicking X when I died. Almost rage-quit at some point but I am glad I didn't because the ending was animated nicely. ^^
Also the Computer / Deep-web idea is cool.

Overall, nice entry. ^^

Very good tutorialization! Was super easy to learn the controls and what the enemies did! Some of the enemies rush at you very quickly, giving very little time to react and hit the shield button. Visuals and sound effects are stellar as well. Well done :)

Deserve a lot more ratings!! I wish there was a soundtrack that would go with the creepy deep web aethetic. The art is amazing and the mechanics are tight, there's something clever about using a defensive move to attack in this game that is worth exploring. The characters are cute and the animation looks really solid! This should be getting a lot more attention! I helped you reach 20 rating to receive a score but this should be getting noticed a lot more! Congrats on making something that looks so cute! I also really like the intro scene that starts the game, I haven't seen anything like that in any other game for this jam.

Hey! [I played your game on stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1025150194?t=03h13m53s)

It's an interesting take on the theme. The enemies and environment felt kind of like the many generic "computer virus" type villains, but I have to say I like the attention to detail, and how consistent the art style is. There wasn't a lot of variety to the gameplay, but I did like finding out how to fight the one 'boss' I encountered in the game. Neat sound effects, too - why no rating in audio? ;)

Congrats on your first LD!

What a beautiful and fun game. I think it can be extended with a few more levels, puzzles and may be mechanics.

Good job.
