Pirifurm DCleaner by emeraldboy44

Welcome to Pirifurm DCleaner!
The year is 2016. The Pirifurm company is super successful because of their Mocrosoft Vindows cleaning utility "CCleaner+"! They decided to create a sequel to CCleaner+ named "DCleaner", The "D" because it does deep cleaning.
You are the deep cleaner! Delete all the cache files and let the normal user files stay. During your scan, you will encounter viruses on Little Billy's PC. Do not touch them or you will lose a hitpoint. New files are constantly being created so don't let the storage become full.
About
This game was created in just 48 hours for Ludum Dare 48! The theme of the jam was "Deeper and Deeper". My interpretation of the theme was deep cleaning. But deep cleaning a house seemed too boring. So I decided to make a game about deep cleaning files on a computer. The tools I used were -
- Phaser 3 [Framework]
- Absolutely no engine at all!
- Piskel [Application for drawing pixel art]
- Krita [Application for manipulating images]
- BeepBox [Application for making music]
- SFXR [Application for making sound]
- Brave [Web browser]
- Python Simple HTTP Server [Local Hosting Module]
- Atom [Text editor]
- Git/GitHub [Version control]
Controls
You can play the game with WASD/Arrow keys. Menus can be navigated with WASD/Arrow keys and enter key or the mouse.
How to play
Delete all the cache files.
Do not delete the normal user files. (You can to clear up some storage space but you will lose 5 HP)
Do not touch viruses. (You can bounce viruses to reposition files)
Collect health packs to heal.
Game Modes
Classic Mode - 10 HP, health packs spawn. Hardcore Mode - 1 HP only, health packs do not spawn and you cannot recover HP by deleting cache files
Source Code
The source code is licensed under the GNU GPL v3.0 license.

The fact that you did this without an engine blows my mind!!!
I did find the viruses surprisingly helpful at "organizing" the user files into neat little piles in the bottom and top left of the level.
@otresnjak Thank you so much. Glad you liked the filenames! ^-^
@pixelportalz Yeah it seems there is some issue on itch.io server-side. Thanks for playing!
@jibberwocky I tried to make everything collide with everything and made the physics complex. It glitches sometimes but it makes the game a lot more fun. Thank you so much for playing.
@rhewid @wongkongphooey Glad you both liked playing it!
@yulotomorrow Yes, the physics of the game is the most interesting part  Maybe the jumping was a little too floaty with no way to duck quickly to the ground. If I make a platformer next time, I will take care of that. Thank you for playing!
But I never thought it would be that fun to erase cache files.
Glad you had fun playing my game!
The only thing I'd have liked to see is some logic to stop cache files getting sandwiched between or underneath normal files, meaning that I couldn't get to them without taking damage.
Still, fun entry and very impressive for 48 hours. Well done!
I think it could improve by making the player a bit faster (move speed and gravity).
Enjoyable entry, good job!
Great entry and I had a lot of fun playing this one!
Good game, good job.
Anyway, it was fun as is, even though the movement was a bit too floaty for my taste. Also, nice music!
@rubixnoob13 LOL, glad you found the game fun and the filenames funny!
@2rek No, thank YOU for playing the game. Glad you liked it!
@filgru Oops, I tested it and I got stuck outside the level when I jumped from the top-right platform. This is the second bug after the virus collision bug. I hope to fix these in a post-jam version later. Glad you had fun playing it and good job on being able to play in expert mode!
@madr Thanks for playing! I will play your game when I get time.
@mololo Thank you so much for playing! Next time I will make some more difficulty settings if I plan on making an arcade-styled game.
@maniulo Oh my god, that sounds awesome. I will add those features and fix some bugs in a post-jam version. I will give your credit for this idea. Thanks for playing the game! Sorry the movement was a bit too floaty..
@fueelin That's a really good score! Thanks for playing, I think you are referring to the rapid collision virus bug. I will fix that in a post-jam version and add some more things as @maniulo suggested! :)
