Diggillion by OgelGames
Dig your way to riches in a world of procedurally generated, fully destructible terrain!
How fast will you dig a million?

Controls - A/D - Move left/right - Space or W - Jump - Mouse - Aim drill - Left-click - Dig - Right-click - Place - Escape - Quit
Note: I recommend to play the downloadable version, the web version is slower and sometimes has issues with audio.

I wish there was more to the game like an upgrade system or something, but when you only have 48 hours I understand you can only do so much.
Only gameplay critique is I wish that my digging radius was a bit bigger, because when I aim far away I end up hitting the dirt that is behind the dirt that I am trying to hit. And it makes it feel weird.
@wizard-sino Nice! :cake:
@squigglez Yeah, there seems to be some bug with the physics of the tilemaps in Godot, not sure if it's caused by the way I used them (or my code), or if it's an engine bug... Happy you had fun anyway :)
The core mechanic works really good visually and gameplay wise.
It felt a bit slow and a bit long, and I had trouble knowing which rock where the most valuable.
Thanks for the game!

I'm not sure if it's only me, but there were definitely a few times that the game lagged a lot. Not a huge issue for the jam, though!
Great work here! :)
**+** cool fine-grained procedural generation + better ores lower in the map fits theme
**+** charming pixel art
**-** it felt a little tedious to dig tunnels wide enough to move through
**-** I was hoping to find something at the bottom
**-** I wanted an easier way to go back up
Great start, lots of potential!
@minibetrayal Sorry you didn't get to play it fully, thanks for playing it anyway :)
@revilo It's based on how long you take to get to a million, the quicker you are the higher the score. I probably should have included a timer in the game, or at least showed the time at the end...
I saw you comment in another game, and recognised you from Minetest modding :)
The tech is amazing and aside from low fps once every minute or so, it plays pretty smooth.
Was a fun one. ^^
Here is my playthrough of your game.
I hope you enjoy watching!

I did not really read the description my bad! So I did not try placing blocks and I did not know about the laggs
@leorid I so should have put another secret on the other side :D
@ausstein Thanks so much for playing! You're actually not the only one that has missed the block placing, somehow it's not as obvious as it should be...
EDIT: Actually framerate still does effect it anyway ;D
As others have mention, other than fleshing out more gameplay (Procedural Generation in < 72 is great!) I only had issues with the lag every now and then, and this then causing the mining to slow.
Ah Yes I missed a very essential feature :D

Anyway, this is a very solid entry! Well done! :)
Btw, no lag issues for me :)
